Did you know that the all-new 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS is the first ever Mercedes model to sport the German automaker's brand new design language?
I'm talking about the long hood, the sharp headlights, the thin horizontal taillights and most of all, the absence of dynamic lines running across its profile. Look at any current Mercedes model and you should spot the difference immediately - all of them have very "busy" profiles.
With the all-new CLS, Mercedes have not only gone back to the drawing board, but are also paying tribute to the first-generation car, which entered production in 2004, while initial design patents date back to as early as 2002.
Unlike the second-generation CLS, the third and first one share a more minimalist design, one that's more elegant than it is sporty, and this matters because moving forward, this design philosophy will influence all new Mercedes cars well into the next decade.
Oh and, here's something all luxury saloon fans should be aware of. The next S-Class, which should come out in 2020, will also resemble the 2018 CLS in its simplicity. So...hope you guys feel good about that.
