This car is the original and only prototype built by Claudio Zampolli, who founded Cizeta with Giorgio Moroder, the Italian musician aka The Father of Disco as investor. So now you understand why this post is better with Giorgio's music in your ears 😀

History of Cizeta-Moroder V16T

The Cizeta-Moroder V16T was built the Italian brand Cizeta based in California. Cizeta is the Italian pronunciation of the initials of the founder, Claudio Zampoli. He arrived in the United States in 1973 with the mission of reorganizing the Lamborghini network. But his dream is to build his own supercar. His meeting with the musician and producer Giorgio Moroder allowed him to realize his project.

In 1989, this prototype is presented during the Los Angeles and Geneva Motor shows. But just before the 5 December 1988 in Los Angeles, Jay Leno, American television host and crazy about cars, hosted a private presentation with the music composed by Moroder callde "A Car is Born".

It was designed by Marcelo Gandini, designer of many iconic cars like Lamborghini Miura, Lamborghini Countach or Lancia Stratos... But after the creation of the first prototype, Giorgio Moroder leaves the project (I don't know exactly the reasons, maybe things are moving too slowly). So the name Moroder is dropped for the production. Only 10 examples were produced.

This model (chassis 001) was owned by Giorgio Moroder who kept in storage. Thanks to Jay Leno, the car was restored. Pure beauty !

The prototype is finished in pearl white with red leather interior. The design is a little different than the production model like larger side air intakes, different lamps...

Did you know about this model? And what do you think of it? Very 80's, I love it... but I wonder at what price this beauty will find takers.

Giorgio Moroder - Chase

There's a lot of Diablo in the design, which came a couple years later, but this one is the full-insane supercar version. The design has aged well, the square taillights and giant text on the rear being the exceptions.

I really like the design especially the big letters on the back... so 80's !!!

I remember having this Cizeta-Moroder V16T on my wall as a poster when I was a kid it was about 2meters long by about 40cm in a frame from my local poster shop the one I had was in black .

Impressive poster... so you'll never forget this car 😀

Yes it was a big one it cost more to frame it than the poster cost 😂I had 3 of them one was this one and the other 2 was LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH & the other one was the FERRARI TESTAROSSA .

I have many frames that cost more than the print too 😀
