Cannabis prosecutions are lower in the UK as a Class B drug, than when it was a Class C drug in 2008.
Make what you will of that. To me it says that Police forces have adopted the 'ffs' approach when finding Cannabis on their stop and searches. We are seeing more and more news articles stating that Police have been taking a more relaxed approach to it. It may because of the growing number of Cannabis clubs about.

Being caught with Cannabis can still get you 5 years in prison though.
That said, if you have a small amount on you, then you are more likely to get a warning, if it's your first offence. These warnings do not show up on criminal records, but are recorded on the police database.
Getting caught with Cannabis again and you could get a fine, Caution or be prosecuted.
Some police forces, as I explained in a previous post, have openly changed how they deal with small-scale users. Somerset and Avon Police, for example, offer drug awareness courses for offenders with small quantities, but dealers and growers do not get the same option.
This next chart confirms what I thought. 1 g- 5g, so in English that makes the average confiscation an eighth (3.5 grams).

In England & Wales, 30% (around 10 million adults) aged 16 to 64 have tried Cannabis at least once. Out of that number, no one has died from it. Can we say the same for alcohol and tobacco that are legal drugs? …no.
