Great article. It is a shame that Cannabis/ Hemp is not anymore produced in your country. Specially if you think about Lake Aral which dried out so terrible because of the cotton wool growing around it. Decentralized hemp production could have prevented that.
In Germany and France it is grown (Hanf) mostly for insulation material, however for textile as well. Nettle is an other great fibre plant that can be used for textiles.
