From Dirt to Dank: Week 8 of Flowering
This week marks the 8th week since turning the lights to 12/12, and 16 weeks total since germination. That's about just on time for my DJ Short Blueberry, which is an indica dominant strain. But because I didn't "top" my plants, leaving them to produce one big cola as in their natural state, I went ahead and "chopped the top" of the Bluebery in order to give its other branches a some more time to grow; hopefully producing even larger, more potent buds.
Let's have a look:
^Above is the cola of DJ Short Blueberry before the chop.
Below is Snoop's Dream (left) hangin out with her neighbor, Pink Panther (right):
And here is the DJ short BB after I chopped her :(
Let's see how she does...
One last thing--
I wanna show you a close-up of the DJ Short BB's crazy-looking purple, and at times red, bud-colors!! Below is a bud still on the tree. You can kind of see the colors near the bottom-left of this bud, but the one below you can really see!! Check it out:
Below's another bud I pulled off just today to dry and test out. Looked and tasted amazing... Check out those colors!!!
Thanks for reading, any and all of yas... :)) Till next time.............
Wow so awesome.... I have a few weeks to go I think ??
Thank you :) . And yes, I'd say it looks like it.. I find the most accurate method of telling when to chop is by trichomes; i.e., cloudy/clear/amber, etc. That, or the less-specific method of about 75% of pistils have darkened and curled inward... But lookin good, dude!
Thanks.... 1st time trying this. Mostly interested in High CBD. I don't do well at all with THC.... super paranoid and anxious ... maybe I need to find the right strain.
Ah. Yes, CBD production can be quite strain-specific. That being said, I believe allowing a plant to mature longer; i.e., waiting until its trichomes are closer to about 50% amber, will result in higher levels of CBD.
Excellent.... very good to know. I am just letting them grow wild in the garden... will hold off picking the flowers... will post more photos as we head into fall harvest.
I suffer from extreme anxiety and stress...
I'm sorry to hear that :( I know what that can be like. You probably tend to stay away from more sativa-y strained buds then, amirite? I know certain strains, for example, "blue dream," I know it can make me hella paranoid and racy--heart beating real fast, and it's scary at times. So yeah, I'd stick with the indicas lol. But I'm sure you're probably already well-aware of that :)
Are you part of any cannabis curation-trails around here? I"m on the canna-curate trail which is pretty new, but has been gaining traction. We'd love to have ya! We basically just chat about weed, grow tips--shit like that--oh, and showing off all our beautiful bud pics :))) It'd be awesome to see some more of your "gals" if you're willing!!
I have tons of photos.... this was when I transplanted to larger pot and moved outdoors back in July. Started from Seedcat end of June.
Sure... I will share since I am just learning and experimenting with 10% CBD hemp 1% THC at the moment... some Free seeds I received.
Nice :) Yeah, the (four) plants I'm currently working with all came from "bagseeds;" i.e., seeds from three different "strains," procured from their respective "recreationally-sold" cannabis sacks.
I checked out your blog and see you have interests in cannabis-related cryptos as well... That's soemthing I haven't looked too far into myself, but, I did come across something called Bitcanna, I believe it was called--basically what it appears to be attempting is the creation of entire ecosystem in which everything is "tokenized" and recorded in a blockchain, and which utilizes "Bitcanna" to make payments, reward blockproducers (it's POS, which I'm not a huge fan of), etc.
Anyway, it looked pretty interesting, and actually quite legit/ serious, with an ambitious, yet realistic roadmap. I believe their "ICO" is going to be in November. I have, of course, a healthy skepticism of ICOs, but I also like to keep my eyes open.
Yeah... I follow a lot of existing coins... not any ICOs .... Steem is by far my favourite crypto currency
Nice. You say STEEM is your favorite, ay? Interesting. Why, may I ask? And what others--if any--do you like?
I invested $0 in Steem last year and started blogging here... now I have $3,500... it was over $20,000 in January. I have some Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin and a few other coins I get for Free by using a Search and Universal Basic Income ....

I signed up for Coinbase and share my referral link on Twitter and a few Crypto blogs .... I get $10 free Bitcoin every few days...
