The Chevy Camaro was introduced 50 years ago. The first generation was from 1967 - 1969. the car was built to compete against the Ford Mustang. In it's first year of production Chevrolet sold 220,906 of them.
After only selling 29,009 units in 2001 Chevrolet decided to stop production of the Camaro after the 2002 model year.
GM also Dropped the Oldsmobile Division in 2004. 2008 and 2009 was a bad year for the Automotive Industry GM filled Chapter 11. GM and Chrysler was bailed out by the Government, dealerships were closing. Ford sold off Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover to avoid Bankruptcy. GM dropped Saturn but sold SAAB.
GM Brings Back the Chevy Camaro in 2010 and sold 81,299 units. So the Camaro is 50 but really 44.
Camaros are nice, but I wished we could get a new TA.
