Calligraphy is an art form where calligraphers creates artistic designs on letters to create a masterpiece. In this post i will be teaching you guys how to "Faux Calligraphy" this is a technique used in times when calligraphers runs out of fancy tools such as brushes and calligraphy pens, and what's left is their pen. I will be teaching you guys basic knowledge about this technique knowing that i also am still learning calligraphy.:-)

Ok! to start, we will be needing a pen and a paper.

Tools used:
*One bond paper
*a regular pen

Once your tools are all set, think of a word. Any word, may it be meaningful to you or just a random word (i suggest you use a short one to finish quicker).

In this one, i used the word "woman" since it's International Womens Day. Happy International Womens Day to all brave women snappy salute. So you just have to do a normal cursive of the word you selected, we are not focusing on how beautiful your handwriting is, we are talking about the technique.

Next, we locate where the down strokes are. You can rewrite your word in the air and locate where the down strokes are, down stroke means when your pen's direction is going down while you are writing your word. So once you already know where the down strokes are, double the down stroke lines, just like on the above picture. This is the crucial part of faux calligraphy, because it will turn out a mess if the down strokes aren't located properly.

Final Step, we shade the space between the doubled lines. And viola! there you have it, a calligraphy using not so fancy tools. It's a good technique for your journals :-)

And once you mastered the technique, you can then play around with the letters. just like this one. You can add flourishes etc.

That's it, quick and easy. :-) if you find this post helpful, upvote and follow for more tutorials soon. ;-) and post in the comments below your works if you tried doing it. :-)

Very interesting @llivrazav, this reminded me of my time in school when we first started to learn how to write.
We started by making a stick form and then make it over and over again .

Right, it's like learning to write all over again because it kinda refreshes your knowledge about hand writing but with a new twist in it. Thank you for finding this interesting. :-) i hope you liked it. :-)
