well of course I am following you ;-)

Hey there i love a lot of the changes you plan to do , good lucky !

interesting experiment! It would be great to see different variations on the Steemit implementation.
I had a blast the past few months posting but I am getting concerned frankly. The bot issues are to be expected, but the lack of constructive communication from the powers that be and action to deal with the bot abuses is not encouraging...

Also the level of interaction seems to have changed, there are less and less quality comments, which I believe should be considered the lifeblood of this thing, so that is another red flag to me.

It seems way to vulnerable to bots and manipulation. Especially the way posts are "valued" through upvotes does not seem to reflect a signal that humans valued the content.
Posts with no views & no comments and 100's of automated upvotes, should not be able to claim 100 's of SBD since they do not grow the value of the platform .

Do you think your implementation should be completely bot -proof? (if that is possible at all? )
In any case I do hope your platform and fork takes off . If anything competition is healthy and should keep everyone on their toes and try hard. I'd be happy to sign up for the beta and give it a try, where can I sign up ?

This is quite salient. Furthermore, it is a feature, designed into the platform. As the possible reasons for including this feature in the design aren't elucidated in the white paper, which instead states that such manipulations are an existential threat to the platform, we are left with examination of the effects of the feature on the platform, and accounts, to ascertain the reason for it.

In any case cryptic reasons are usually malign, just as the incessant examples provided by candidates for political office show.

I do look forward to finding you on Calibrae, along with other humans capable of reason.

Perhaps, in time, the apparently injurious flagging of @calibrae will prove to be a good thing, by weeding out those poseurs that fail to pursue it because they can't be assed to penetrate the fog of flaggotry that protects it from such, like a moat and bailey.

I like it :) New game, same player shoots again :)

Yes a limited # of transactions should favor humans over automated behaviour.
Do you think comments should be more recognised as a signal of a "quality" post worthy of a part of the reward pool ?

Yes I guess in the end bots can be programmed to replicate any human behaviour.
I naively thought that you could score a post as human interaction through counting the comments, subcomments and upvoted comments and the number of unique commenters.
Assuming flame wars would not be voted or flagged down.
But I guess once the bot programmers figure that out and they have access to 1000's of bots that could be defeated as well... sigh....

Keep us up to date! We are on the edge of our seats here ;p

Definitely with you about the bots, they seem to be procreating like crazy recently, this is most definitely NOT good for the Steemit platform as it will become a social(?) platform where bots do the upvoting and maybe soon even the writing too (then upvote their own posts)...until the whole thing crashes and burns. Keep us informed about calabrae.
You got an upvote & resteem from me.
Steem on bryond the moon, lets take it past the moon. Good luck to us all.

That's it!

So if there is someone who has 80,000 accounts, plus all the other with more than 100 or 1000 accounts....there are not really 200,000 Steemit users in fact.
The charts all show huge growth but a lot of it is bots...sad news for Steemit.
Thanks for that info.

So do I not upvote this account since the value is of no value to you? Not sure what to do here =/

I'll be watching this space though!

No strange feeling here! I knew exactly what to do!

I'm in!

An Idea:
Imagine: a new artist uploading his videos and getting upvote for his songs... a new way to be musician. Youtube 2.0, coins distributed homogeneously by each open wallet, 1 wallet per person, 1 person per channel... and then just grow.

Just at very begining! The first 100 000 accounts or something like this.

Or you can distribute the coin using the World Community GRid, just like Ripple in the begining or gridcoin, or right now colossuscoin

I find this quite interesting, I did not know about this project until now and I am a bit confused but will read the old posts to try to get it.

I think Steemit may be entering on a decay era (not something too serious) because of the rise of bots so I am starting to follow you.

Thanks for the update mate. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out. Once live, I'll be cross posting content to help support you on the new chain.

Good luck.

Calibrae sounds like it will be popular even if other people(?) think otherwise.
I will be following calibrae with much interest.

1,000 upvotes... I'm pretty confused by the post, but will be a new follower anyway, peace

Nice idea bro. Keep posting more of this to be updated.

Is spamming from this account really necessary? It won't look good if you expect your project to be taken seriously.

Sad that people are downvoting it. This guy should have right to speak his mind. I do not know how successful his project would be, but why hide his posts. I don't think he is doing anything spammy or shady business here.

Very bad ideas. Suppose I follow an account because I found it worth it, but it had a bad post. Why do you make me upvote it against my will? Exactly the same thing with the inverted case of muting.
You make it worse than Steemit with this uncalled for automation.
Why overload the blockchain and the bandwidth and drain the voting power for no reason other than designer's decision?

You can still vote on posts, so your follow 'upvote' can be counteracted with a flag.

Perhaps you might read the Steemit white paper and consider the various automatic forces at play here, to provide context for the differences Calibrae intends to execute.

Bots are entirely automatic, as the 1000 upvotes on this post show. This is a problem that Steemit has, and Calibrae is intended to limit.

So you suggest draining my voting power even more, and overloading the blockchain even more in order to counteract bad automation?
Why force both an upvote and a flag on myself and the blockchain?

Automation is a blessing when wanted, not when forced.
Some bots here do a very good job.
Cheetah, thing-2, blacklist-a, nogalert (yes, I am aware it is berniesanders', but berniesanders is good for steemit) , and I feel like I might have forgot another one, and still have to know about a few more, and then there are probably a few good ones that are coming soon.

If you think one flag on the one post you don't like on an account you otherwise support is clogging the bandwidth of the blockchain, then consider @noganoo's 1000 bots and what they do to Steemit. Calibrae is designed to dramatically reduce the clogging of the blockchain with bots, and if it costs an occasional HUMAN flag/vote to eradicate thousands of bots, then that is a net gain in bandwidth.

I do not suggest you do anything. I am not your mentor, teacher, or judge. I merely point out the compensatory mechanism, and how it relieves bandwidth pressure, rather than increases it.

I am a Steemit fanboy, as you will see from a trip through my back catalog of posts, and hope dearly that Steemit crushes Fakebook and replaces it.

Bots voting (not @cheetah, @blacklist-a, or similar anti-plagiarism and spam bots), like @randowhale, and @noganoo's horde - even MSP's bots that help minnows, aren't acceptable to me, not because they do, or don't, stem from malice, but because they degrade human agency, and instead of human upvotes being the director of Steem from the rewards pool, it is AI (albeit presently pretty rudimentary. Soon, perhaps already, it will not be so rude), and I do not want to slide into equality with mechanisms.

Humans aren't devices, or chattel, as are machines, and therefore the opinions of machines aren't of value to me.

Their assistance is necessary. Their opinions are anathema to human freedom.

Edit: as one of @berniesanders followers, I do not judge him for @randowhale, nor do I MSP. I find my own opinions on the matter useful to me, and I advocate for what I believe. I appreciate that other's views are different from mine, and support them when I find them thoughtful and community oriented, as both @berniesanders and MSP appear to me to be.

Would it be better if a human pimped his steempower?
And no immutable blockchain with all the date repetitions, spam vulnerability and household PCs as servers will ever be able to crush FB as much as I want to see FB and Zuckerberg getting crushed.
