Today young people who are entering adulthood hardly remember these beautiful moments and much less the cakes that I prepared for them with such care and dedication, spending whole hours of the night before their birthday.
It is not that they are ungrateful, quite the contrary. I nurture towards them, and vice versa, they towards me, an endearing love that increases at every moment of life.
I just think that the memories of the children are stronger in the mother. They are facing new horizons in their personal and professional lives and sometimes memories give way to worries. I also had them when I was their age.
Browsing through photo albums -from when digital did not yet exist- and newer ones taken with my cell phone or digital camera, I recall these beautiful moments.
Remembering -once again- how my children have grown.

Estas son las fotos de algunas de las tortas que he hecho con el pasar de los años, para mis hijos, un varón y una mujer.
Hoy ya jóvenes que están entrando en la vida adulta poco se recuerdan de estos hermosos momentos y mucho menos de las tortas que con tanto esmero y dedicación preparé para ellos, pasando horas enteras de la noche antes del cumpleaños.
No es que sean desagradecidos, todo lo contrario. Nutro hacia ellos, y viceversa, ellos hacia mí, un amor entrañable que aumenta en cada momento de la vida.
Simplemente creo que los recuerdos hacia los hijos son más fuertes en la madre. Ellos están de frente a nuevos horizontes en su vida personal y profesional y a veces los recuerdos dejan lugar a las preocupaciones. También yo las tuve cuando tenía la edad de ellos.
Hojeando álbumes de fotos -de cuando todavía no existía el digital- y otros más nuevos sacados con el celular o la cámara fotográfica digital, rememoro estos hermosos momentos.
Recordando -una vez mas- como han crecido mis hijos.
