Cakes Away- Masterpieces of the cake world

This is me (see my serious pic below)

I am a qualified, and occasionally confused mom of 1.
I am most definitively no the most domesticated person on earth but since the birth of my son I am rapidly developing new skills... Sort of like bitcoins expansion over the past few years.

The moment I became a mother I immediately obtained the following qualifications:
Governmental employee
Chef
Decorator
Walker of child and dogs
Quick shop expert
Emotional regulator
Clothing specialist
comfort item
multitasking professional
baking specialist
pro feeder
cleaner and
party planner (to name a few)

Some days are better than others, these days are filled with skills I already have (like packing away the washing). Other days I am learning more than what I thought I ever would. My poor little brain looks like the Road Runner on rout to the Grand Prix trying to get away from the coyote. Rapidly scrambling to master new skills.

I thought being a pro at Facebook and Snapchat was the best use of my spare time.... OOOOOHHHHH how wrong I was. Weekend spare time is now filled with attending children's parties. 1st birthday parties to be more specific. I've taken time to share some of the AMAZING mom baking skills that I have witnessed here (just encase you should have a 1 year old with a fashion and passion for cake that he or she probably wont remember).

Hope you enjoy the art and marvel of the cakes I have had the opportunity of experiencing.

Here we see a farm style cake. Cute animals poking their heads out of a barn style structure. Defined by touches of pink to ensure that one understands it is indeed a birthday cake for a girl. An absolute masterpiece.

Next up a rainbow-delight with a touch of candy at the top, only hinting at the beauty of colors that are to be found beneath. A true time filled gem, made by this little mans mum and filled with love.

Next up we see the future of technology, and apparently cakes also. A robot, who sadly was slightly disembodies before this mother could snap away at his glory. None the less, to me this is another marvel of the 1st birthday cake world that I now find myself as a part of.

And lastly

Throwback to the time when the Mario Brothers dominated the gaming world. I am proud to call this one my own. This was the cake for my sons first birthday. An absolute adults delight as the kids never even got to taste the cake :(

And there we have it, a brief summary of the wonderful world of 1st birthday cakes that have thus far shaped the world that I now find myself living in.
