Here is my 1st entry to the #bwphotocontest for Architecture.
Titled ‘The Metropolis Web’, this was shot at the Helix Bridge, near the Marina Bay Sands of Singapore which stands behind this mesmerizing web of stainless steel mesh.
The canopies made of fritted-glass and perforated steel mesh are incorporated along parts of the inner spiral to provide shade for pedestrians, and it stands as the longest bridge in Singapore. Besides the impressive looking architecture, however, I thought that this was a good representation of my current state of mind living in this metropolitan city, so called modern day life, where I feel constantly distracted and bombarded by the things around, when all I want to do is cross the bridge to get to where I want to, while enjoying a bit of nature in between.
Excellent photo. I love the intersecting lines here in this photo. It's unique to see a bridge with this level of complexity to its design. Upvoted :)
