Well let's hope in the next one you will be a winner and your definitely right about that he is a tough nut to crack i have entered many times before and managed to crack him once out of so many photos i entered over the time , keep trying your b&w photos are nice and you will crack him eventually will power and persistence normally works :)

He also has a contest on discord: MashIt Up. We upload black and white photos following the different daily themes and ykdesign picks some of them and makes one of her great photoshop edits. The post's reward is then being split among those who's photos were used and the editor. I won several times as ykdesign picks the photos and not Bruno. 😂
