Steemhunt: Taking Steem To Another Level

The team over @steemhunt just keeps getting more impressive. They are doing things that are really helping to take Steem to another level. Anyone with those tokens might want to consider holding them; they have some great ideas.

Steemhunt is the first Steem based DApp to have an IEO. They are presently on their 3rd round on their second exchange . Their goal is to run IEOs on 4 different exchanges. Their first one sold out in 11 seconds.

One of the efforts being undertaken by different Steemians is to get STEEM listed on exchanges. This is obviously a crucial step for the visibility of the token along with the ease of acquisition. All the publicity in the world is useless is people do not have a place to buy it.

Thus far, both Probit and Daybit agreed to list it. The later just added it as part of the agreement for hosting the IEO. They have both STEEM and SBD on there which is fantastic.

Daybit is a relatively new exchange that received a significant amount of funding. It is a Korean exchange which should put it in good position since cryptocurrency is being embrace well by the Koreans. This exchange has a number of ideas of how to expand their business and the changes are being made in March-April.

Evidently, one way to increase the value of that exchange is to get involved with Steem. Their token shot up 12% in one day.

Steemhunt is opening the door for other applications to follow behind. There are a number of Steem based applications that already announced they will be doing IEOs in the next few months. @actifit, @dlike, and @esteem are a few I believe who have those intentions.

Everyone who is on here each day contributing is making a difference. We know the ranking of Steem DApp on State of the DApps. We have about half the applications in the Top 20. This is being noticed by the outside world.

I was chatting with @mcfarhat yesterday and he was told by the people at IDCM that Steem Applications are hot right now for IEOs. This shows that we are having an effect and people are taking notice. An overlooked blockchain with so many DApps in the Top 20 is showing the strength of the community that is here.

Part of that could be the fact that Steemhunt raised 146% of their intended target on that exchange.

Our first IEO (Initial Exchange Offering) via IDCM is finally completed, and it reached 146.63%. We set a target of 3.75 million HUNTs (worth $75,000), but sold about 5.5 million HUNTs (worth approx $110K) far surpassing our target. This is a great sign proving that SMT (Smart Media Token) is an appealing project for external investors.

We often talk about marketing and letting people know about Steem. The truth is what is needed is visibility, however it is acquired. This approach is already netting a large number of eyeballs.

According to their post, the Steemhunt team said their MAU jumped to near 200K with the DAU approaching 50K. This is a lot of eyeballs seeing Steem. I am sure there are a portion there who will sign up and, more importantly, a fair number who will up buying the token(s).

It is an exciting time to be involved with Steem. This is the exponential growth that I often write about. Being involved in a cooperative means that the different applications are not competing with each other. The greater the benefit that Steemhunt brings to the table, the better it is for every stakeholder.

Applications can learn from each other and apply what works. Also, having more traffic means some is going to filter to other applications. That is the value of being able to access all applications with the same log in information.

Ultimately, Steem is one big team where everyone has the same vested interest. All that are on here want the ecosystem to grow in value. Steemhunt is doing things not only to benefit itself but also the users of the application. Developers and users are aligned.

Each day we are seeing Steem move forward. Actions like this are drawing a number of eyeballs to our part of the world. This is going to pay compounding dividends over time. As I said, each activity on here builds upon what went before. With 50K transacting accounts, we have a dedicated community intend on growing this place.

The fun is just getting started.
