As it was almost the weekend, yesterday @ezzy suggested that we go to a nearby village "Cookham" where it is commonly associated with the famous “Wind in the Willows” storybook. And I gladly agreed.
After an hour or so drive from London, we arrived at this little historical village "Cookham" which is located in the north of Berkshire in England.
The weather was a little cloudy but pleasant enough. We had a wonderful country walk in this pretty and quaint little village, which was really nice as it gave us a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life!
"Cookham" is also known for one the greatest British painters, Sir Stanley Spencer, who lived in the village all his life. A lot of the scenic background imagery of his paintings are based upon this village. At the heart of the village, we have the Gallery of "Stanley Spencer". Very well worth visiting if you are into art and the like.
After the gallery, we continued our leisurely walk across the green meadows and just let ourselves to be one with the nature. What more could you ask for?
Picture saying it's all. Peaceful and happiness.
