Social media and the internet are very powerful tools that several modern businesses and startups depend on every day. The internet devices is important to these businesses because it offers them the opportunity to reach a wider audience in such a short amount of time and with very minimal amounts of resources.

On social media, companies and brands can easily showcase their products to people and drive traffic and gain traction on their content without having to organize an expensive gallery or exhibition. You'd be ill-informed to think there are many businesses today that do not rely on the internet to close sales or turn in profit at some level. It is, in practice probably the greatest invention ever.

However, the space has become even more competitive than it used to be several years ago. Gone are the days when a simple HTML + CSS built Website and a well-placed ad is all you need. Today, brands, entrepreneurs and companies need to do better by not just providing links to products. They need to show that they truly care about the clients/consumers by taking proactive steps. And they need to have a strong and effective online presence!

So, how do you create a strong and effective online presence?
Well, why don't we ask the experts? In this article titled The Three Elements of an Effective Total Online Presence on Ducttapemarketing.com, John Jantsch shares a podcast where he teaches just how that can be achieved in three easy steps as listed below;

  • A Great Website -- Trust us on this one. To drive that traffic, you need a kickass website to help you build trust. The website should serve more than just being an index for your products and services. It should show great promises and confidence that you're able to solve their problems. Thus, you want to make it as interactive and as appealing as possible.

  • Consider Google SEO. -- You need this one to rank high on the charts when the web crawling bots come around. Recent studies have shown that more people browse the internet these days on mobile phones platforms than on computers . Thus, you want to be sure your Website is up to date and can load up pretty quickly on mobile devices. More traffic on your site means more audience and a bigger opportunity to convert a huge part of that into sales!

  • Finally, it is content! -- Because creating content around what you are trying to sell to me will inform me that you know what the fuck you're doing! After all, over 80% of internet users are content consumers than creators. and roses are red, and content is king, and...

But of course, these three things being very important still doesn't negate the need for real work and dedication amongst others. There are still a lot of intricate things you would need to do besides building a website and putting up contents. You have to be sure your product/ services actually work, otherwise, why are we even here?

Good talk, anyways. I shall now leave you in the hands of John Jantsch as you listen to The Three Elements of an Effective Total Online Presence. I promise it's one of the best 8 minutes you'll ever spend on a website.

Happy listening, Pan.
