Brahmanbaria District is an administrative division of the Chittagong Division of south-eastern Bangladesh. The Brahmanbaria district is known as the cultural capital of Bangladesh.
The area of Brahmanbaria district is 1927.11 sq km. Habiganj and Kishoreganj districts on the north, Comilla District on the south, Tripura State of India and Habiganj on the east and Meghna river, Narsingdi, Kishoreganj and Narayanganj districts on the west.
In 1984, it was upgraded to Brahmanbaria district level. Earlier it was a subdivision of Comilla district. Brahmanbaria district has a lot of contribution in the glorious history of Bangladesh's liberation war. People like Abdul Kuddus Makhan played a heroic role here.
