PARADIGMS

in #busy7 years ago

Good evening Community, In this time I want to tell you my journey through a process of continuous improvement. As every human being, I am firmly committed to achieving success. This is not defined, in the best sense as a financial success but as success in the humanistic sense, in the sense of leaving contributions that are of great importance to the family, community, and society that surrounds us. On this road a few months ago I read the following book: "The 7 habits of highly effective people" written by Stephen R. Covey, which in my opinion is excellent, so much so, that I am rereading it, and I want to tell you my interpretation and analysis of the same, waiting for you a retro-feeding that allows us to develop each day a little more.

The author initially reports that he made a study of the literature of the last 200 years, corresponding to the ways to achieve success. This literature has a particularity; the first 150 years focus on the path to success prioritizing the development of the internal character of the person, what the author calls ethics of character and the last 50 years are focused on developing the ethics of personality, which is defined by the techniques of development of skills in public and human relations, and on the other hand in the tools for the development of a positive mental attitude. Although the ethics of the personality is an important factor to achieve success, it is not a determining factor, because the behaviors and thoughts of the human being are determined by their internal character, this internal character must be based on correct principles such as honesty, responsibility, humility, ect, which are the principles that govern societies throughout history. Example: a person can have excellent public relations and interpersonal skills, in addition to having a positive mental attitude, however, if their internal character is incorrect, sooner or later their true interests will be reflected and will be portrayed in the long-term interaction. As we could see we already understood that the road to success is determined by the development of ethics of character, but how do we improve or develop this? Steven indicates that we must know in detail the map with reality, that is, our paradigms. These paradigms are the result of all our experiences and conditioning that we have suffered throughout our lives. Let's see for a moment the following exercise:

Can you see the old woman?
This is a simple exercise on conditioning and how the map with which we see reality determines. Imagine how our behavior can be conditioned by all the images and stimuli that we have received continuously for years, by television and in our environment in general. For this reason, we must initially examine our paradigms and determine if they are congruent with the correct principles. In the next post, we will delve into this topic .
Thank you for your attention.
