The power of visualization

Most people can say exactly what they don't want: for example, they are unhappy with their employment and would like to change their jobs. Others are dissatisfied with their place of residence and would like to go as far away as possible, because they believe everything is better there. Some people want to change their study place, school or education. Others simply want more money. Well, and how much more exactly? Most people can't say that.

But what´s the point?

Overchallenged by the abundance of possibilities that life offers us, we do not want to tie ourselves down. Add to this the fact that we are sometimes not completely free in our decisions and want to please our fellow human beings or that we are afraid to make a wrong decision or simply to make a mistake. We are often too busy being AGAINST something, instead of concentrating on our specific situation.

Just Try it!

What would your life look like if it was almost perfect? Do you find it difficult to paint all your areas of life in detail? What profession would you have? What would your personal relationships look like? How and where would you live? What kind of partnership would you have?

What could be nicer than to indulge in those daydreams?

What do you think about when you fall asleep?

Without having read a statistic and you're not newly and crazy in love with someone, I can almost guess: you're reviewing the day, planning tomorrow or rolling around with problems. Of course, you can do this if there's no other way, but just do it briefly and try the following instead:

Imagine your perfect life in every detail. This is the first step. After you've perfected this, imagine it's already done! Then feel what this triggers in you and what feelings you suddenly have and give room to these emotions. The goal is to make you feel as if everything is as you dreamed it would be. See your life as it is before your eyes and enjoy it. And then fall asleep blessed.

Behave as if

Not only to fall asleep - but also in life - behave and feel as if this is already a reality. You will probably have objections, but try it within your means. We ourselves create our own reality!

Communicate what you want

This part doesn't seem that easy. Shame plays a big role here. Can you stand in front of others and say what you want? For example, if you want to earn 10,000 euros / dollars per month but you can't stand by it, you have a theme or a article of faith. A belief could be "Only greedy, bad people have a lot of money and earn at the expense of others". Our up bringing also plays a central role in the topic of money: many of us have learned that money is dirty and after touching coins, you have to wash your hands (or play - were you allowed to play with money???). In reality, lottery winners are often overtaxed because they were not prepared to deal with large sums of money.

Nevertheless, I don't think we just want to be rich because we want to own a lot of money. I believe that most of us want more freedom and hope that the money will open this door for us.

So don't be ashamed of what you want. If you talk to your fellow men about it, stay with you. In your personal space. You don't have to convince anyone else. Don't justify yourself. It's your world. Your counterpart may have a different opinion. Recognize that. Recognizing yourself is just as important. Be honest with yourself. And to your fellow men.

Make yourself a Vision Board

Make a poster, buy a pinboard or get a cork board at the hardware store. If you're more of a digital hobbyist, you can also do it online.

Look for pictures of your perfect life - add keywords to it. There are no limits to your creativity. Hang it in a place where you see it every day (on or in the wardrobe, directly above your sleeping place, etc.).

It's a daily-reminder. Visualizing things releases incredible powers in us and we subconsciously orientate our actions towards them.

If you decide to use the offline tinkering version and you want to have it digital, you can also take a picture of your Vision Board and use it as a screen saver or mobile phone background.

Tip:

One tool I can definitely recommend to you is canva. So to speak a digital craft kit. You can upload your own pictures, choose backgrounds, add words. Just try it out! The basic functions are free of charge! I personally like to use canva very much. Here is the link:

To me

I too used to be one of those people who knew exactly what they did not want. Since I know more and more what I want and visualize a lot, it comes more and more into my life. Cause I made space. Talking about making space: cleaning out and letting go, I'll get to that in my next article.
