El director Song Seung Hwan, de las ceremonias de inauguración y clausura de los Juegos Olímpicos, tras su explicación sobre PSY, comento sobre el casting de artistas en una entrevista via telefónica con un medio de comunicación.
Sobre el no tener más intérpretes, explico que fue difícil permitir más actuaciones de K-pop debido al tiempo de emisión y varios rituales oficiales que tenían que hacerse. También agregó:
_ “Queríamos invitar a algunos equipos más, pero también hubieron algunos que no se concretaron debido a la programación y otros problemas. Incluidos en esos estaban PSY y BTS”._
Él continuó diciendo:
“Enviamos una oferta a BTS a principios del año pasado, pero tienen muchos eventos en el extranjero. Parecía probable que estarían en el extranjero durante los Juegos Olímpicos, por lo que era difícil programarlos antes de tiempo”.
