RE: Writing is one of the most important skills ever developed!

I believe here [NZ] the end of school exams no longer require the student to even spell the word correctly, and also allow a lot of the abbreviations that the kids use in their phone conversations.
Could this lead to the end of the human race?
In the OLD days, a bloke would try and chat a girl, resulting, if he had been lucky, an increase in mankind.
Now, three kids sit on the same sofa, each with a phone in their hands, and text each other, and never a word is spoken.
End result? no increase in mankind,
Just as well I will shuffle off the stage before it gets too far down that road.

You are so right. I am so irritated with kids in my class using these abbreviations. Apparently spelling is no longer important and they have spellcheck on their computers so why bother to think if they don't have to. I saw a very interesting video the other day. You might find it interesting too. This might take the place of sex as we know it. Here it is:

The result will arrive, complete with phone, ready to repeat the cycle.
It was far more fun doing it the old way, if the male doner of the skin cells is a mechanic and doesn't remove all the grease before donation, what a slippery little thing he will breed, old fashioned ones were slippery enough in the bath imagine a coat of oil on top.
