Big Ben is a name of the clock tower located in the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London, United Kingdom. This building is the second largest clock tower in the world. The clock is located northeast of the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London.
Big Ben is actually the name of the little bell that lies inside (formerly the Great Bell). The tower is also named "The Tower of Big Ben". The tower was built as part of a new palace building plan by Charles Barry, after the long-destroyed Westminster Palace from a fire on the evening of October 22, 1834. Designed by an amateur lawyer and horoscope Edmund Beckett Denison, and George Airy, a Royal Astronomer. The clock was made by Edward John Dent, who completed it in 1854. But the tower of Big Ben had not been completed by then until 1859.
The tower is 96.3 meters (316 feet) tall and is built in Victorian Gothic style. 61 meters (200 feet) below the clock made of brick lined with stone. While at the top of the tower is supported with a metal frame made of iron melting, wow amazing. The tower is built on land measuring 15 meters by 15 meters, the foundation is made of concrete as thick as 3 meters (9 feet), at a depth of 4 meters (13 feet) below the surface. All sides of the clock are 55 meters (180 feet) high from the ground.
Due to the changing conditions of the soil since its construction, the Big Ben Tower is slightly tilted to the northwest of approximately 220 millimeters (8.66 inches), the tower tilts every year for several millimeters to the east and west due to the thermal effect.

Big Ben merupakan sebuah nama menara jam terletak di Gedung Parlemen di Westminster, London, Inggris Raya. Bangunan ini ialah menara jam terbesar kedua di dunia. Jam ini terletak di timur laut dari Rumah Parlemen di Westminster, London.
Big Ben sebenarnya merupakan nama kecil lonceng yang terletak di dalamnya (dulunya adalah Great Bell). Menara ini juga dinamai "The Tower of Big Ben". Semua sisi jam tingginya 55 meter (180 kaki) dari atas tanah.
Karena berubahnya kondisi tanah sejak pembangunannya, Menara Big Ben sedikit miring ke barat laut kurang lebih 220 milimeter (8.66 inci), menara ini miring setiap tahun sebanyak beberapa milimeter ke arah timur dan barat dikarenakan efek thermal.
