(41.56) The death of two school students drowned in the Meghna river in Narayanganj
Two school students, Yasin (7) and Bin Yamin (7), died after bathing in the Meghna River in Sonargaon in Narayanganj. The accident occurred on Sunday (August 12th) at Hariya Gobindi area of the upazila.
According to local sources, Yasin was called to bath on Sunday afternoon at Hariya Gobindi area of Meghna river under Baiderbazar union of the upazila. At this time, when Yasin went downstairs, Bin Yamin came running to save his friend. He was swept away in water in a tremendous stream. The people of the area came to know about the body of two school students.
The son of Kamal Hossain of Hariya Govinda village under Baidya Bazar Union of Yasin Upazila was killed. He is a second grade student of local Hariya Government Primary School. Bin Yamin is the first class student of Munalite Kindergarten, son of Salahuddin of the same area.
Sonargaon Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Morshed Alam confirmed the incident and said that after getting the news in the afternoon, the police went to the spot. But after the incident, the bodies of two school students killed in the house were buried.
