As Strangers

1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

One of the greatest enemy of a child of God is the lust of the flesh. The desire for what is not rightfully ours is a sin before God. The lust for power, money, recognition, sex, or position is deathly to our relationship with God. Thus, we are admonished to abstain from it from today. This is because, the lust of the flesh war against the soul of man. No man can be holy with lust in his heart. Abstain from it today!

We are in the world but not of the world. We are on a journey to eternity. Never allow the happenings in the journey to distract your focus on the destination. Never allow what's temporary to deprive you of what's permanent. The world is passing away and those that hold on to Christ shall rejoice at the end.

Redirect your focus today, for Christ is coming for you soon. A fulfilled life is all about Jesus, not cars, money, power, sex or position. Jesus is the answer to every chaos around us.

Ancient of days, thank you for your assurance of victory over the flesh. Please help us to focus on you irrespective of the storms in our lives, in Jesus name. Amen.
