President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo responded to the weakening of the US dollar exchange rate away from Rp 14,000. Based on data on the Bank Indonesia page, Monday (30/4), the Rupiah moves in the range of Rp 13,808 per USD.

Jokowi said that despite the weakening of the rupiah, Indonesia's economic fundamentals are still good, and inflation growth can be well controlled.
"I believe that our economic fundamentals are good, there is growth, inflation growth can also be controlled at approximately 3.5 percent, our cash flow is still good, our balance deficit is also better, it means our macro fundamentals are good," said Jokowi after attending Musrenbang Bappenas at Grand Sahid Hotel, Sudirman, South Jakarta, Monday (30/4).

Jokowi calls this exchange rate fluctuation is felt by almost all countries, so there is nothing to worry about this weakening of the rupiah.
"In order for us to know everything about this exchange rate in almost every country, the global market phenomenon that all countries are experiencing, all countries are also volatile due to the impact of policies, especially on interest rate hikes in the US" that.

Nevertheless, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta has handed over full rupiah stability to Bank Indonesia (BI).
"The government will not intervene in the monetary affairs, because this policy is in BI, I tell you that our macro fundamentals are good and all countries are experiencing, we will continue to keep," Jokowi closed.
