I think that the best thing about Steemit is that it awards quality content. Not that I don't think that on the other social platform good stuff has a chance to float to the top. It's just that I feel that considering how people think about building their network in terms of a long-term investment they tend to be a bit more careful in what they are following, upvoting and/or promoting. In the long run, this will, by default, result in good things and interesting people to be in the focus.
