- Wake up early and have a consistent sleeping routine
I used to be one of those people that'd sleep at 6am in the morning and wake up at 3pm in the afternoon. I know, crazy right? That part of my life was horrendous and is now long gone! I used to wake up feeling dreadful, and would always be in a bad mood. Why? Because I knew I had lots to get through but I couldn't attend to any of those tasks because I had a messed up sleeping routine that made me feel unproductive and lazy.
Waking up early is a great habit to incorporate into your life. Wake up at 7am - do what you need to do, and then in the evening you can happily relax and watch a movie without having to stress about anything :D
- Clean and Stay Organised
I cannot stress to you enough how important this habit is! The act of cleaning and staying organised saves me so much time in the long run.
A clean environment makes me feel motivated, comfortable, productive and happy. Before I go to work every day, I make sure my room is clean and everything is in order. I keep my face products organised on my shelf, in a way that the products I use frequently are at the front, and the least used procucts at the back.
I keep all my paperwork in separate folders, from important to least important so when I am in need of them, I can find them without stressing like a maniac. I make sure that my bed is made so that when I enter my room, it is ready for me to get cosy in. I ensure that my floor is clean, so when I enter my room, I don't trip up on anything.
At my office, I keep everything organized and in order. This way I get my work done quicker and my boss is happy. Happy boss = Happy life haha
I swear it does not take a long time to clean. Once you've cleaned your environment you are in, keep it clean consistently to save time.
- Say “NO” and focus on yourself
I have spent my entire life being kind to people and where did it get me? Nowhere. People would only message me because they needed something and that sucked, until one day I said “NO”. It was the best feeling in the world. Since then nobody has taken advantage of me. I have started to focus on MYSELF and my goals in life, because at the end of the day, the only person you can truly trust is yourself. Your friends aren't going to pay your bills for you. Thus, focus on yourself and focus on your own successes for a happier future.
- Save Money
Every time you go to the shop, ask yourself “do I really need this?". The act of saving money is not only satisfying, but knowing that you can rely on yourself independently because you have done this one simple act of saving, is a great feeling. Even if it's setting aside £20 a week. In a a year that accumulates to £1,040. Imagine what you can buy with that!
Additionally, stop looking at branded things! Every brand is literally the same! It's the name of the company that increases the price of an item, not the quality of the item you're buying!
- Control your food intake
This one's pretty simple really but I'll give you one tip on how to control your meal proportions. Instead of putting food on a large plate, put food on a small plate. We don't realise that when we put food on a large plate, we are actually increasing our proportions by 2x the amount.
In terms of what foods to eat, cut down on the fizzy drinks and snacks. Drink one glass of water of sparkling flavoured water before every meal. This will make you feel full quicker. Eat sweet fruit instead of sweet and chocolates. Eat rice cakes instead of crisps. Eat sweet potato fries (baked) instead of normal fries. I could go on…
Hi,
I agree on: money, organization, nutrition and of course to focus on yourself. Can't even stress the last one enough. People are going to rob your energy if you lose too much focus so stay calm stay focussed and stay happy.
Waking up early is a bit different I think. I tried to wake up at 3,4,5 am for a while and indeed in that phase of my life the most productive time of the day was in the morning between 5 and 10 but it differs from person to person. Right now I feel that I prefer the night time for the most important tasks of the day for example.
So get up early for a while to try if it's your thing. And if not, try the night time and so on :)
