A few years ago I learned the art of buying and selling domain names privately and in auctions. What is a domain name?
A domain name is your website name. It is an address where Internet users can access your website. A domain name is used for finding and identifying computers on the Internet. Computers use IP addresses, which are a series of numbers. However, it is difficult for humans to remember strings of numbers. Because of this, domain names were developed and used to identify entities on the Internet rather than using IP addresses.
A domain name can be any combination of letters and numbers, and it can be used in combination of the various domain name extensions, such as .com, .net and more.
The domain name must be registered before you can use it. Every domain name is unique. No two websites can have the same domain name. If someone types in www.yourdomain.com, it will go to your website and no one else's. Although domains are primarily used for developers if you happen to own a domain name that you are not using and someone else fells the need to procure it they must go through you. You can privately sell a domain name and there are many ways to secure payment and transfer. Domain names can run as cheap as $.99 when there is a promotion going on and can sell for as much as $1 million depending on how premium the name you registered is and the demand for it. If there is an interest for me to start posting some info on the how-tos and dos and dont's let me know drop a comment upvote and share. !
