6 weeks is quite impressive for a 1 man team. I would not consider it a failure by any stretch of imagination. Thanks for telling us about itch.io - I never heard about that platform before.

Getting the game published on steem is already a sign of it's quality I would assume. They must have relatively high standard, giving how popular the platform is.
