The fact that everyone thinks Reddit Ads ROI is bad is a HUGE opportunity
Very true. It's all about underpriced and overpriced attention.
There are so many platforms out there, that there is always an opportunity to hack one that isn't getting as much attention from advertisers.
On another note, I would be super interested and grateful, if you can write a post about how you managed to execute your Kickstarter for the pillow fort, as well as how you leveraged Reddit to do it.
I plan on doing a crowdfunding campaign on either Indiegogo, or Kickstarter in a few months and it would be really valuable to me to get your perspective and experience with that! 😀
Will do! It's on the list.
To be honest, bit of a shitty thing to talk about because the manufacturing side was such a spectacular failure, but the marketing side of it I had some real wins and learnt a lot of lessons about how to do it better next time.
Someone at one point dragged the whole story out in an interview, but I haven't been able to find their site for a while. I'll have to have another look
Edit: Actually, here's a link to the wayback machine version of the interview. It's very rough. I thought they were going to edit it and write a story, instead they just copy/pasted our whole conversation, without fixing typos or anything, grr.
Cheers for finding it!
It's good enough, I'll ignore the typos and read it with interest!
Thanks for sharing this valuable information 👍
