We will see. I already have a wide-angle lens, but it doesn't really do what I need it to. What I need is a lens that can keep focus locked between shots, and my current one doesn't. So I am positive the new lens might bring some new possibilities to my photography.

The new lens also allows for a camera body upgrade. My camera is starting to fall apart with age, so I might have to upgrade the body soon, and go full-frame while at it. While the old lens sure produced good images, I can't use it on a full-frame body if and when I will upgrade to one.
