@buildawhale does not control @yabapmatt's bid tool, but we recommend it so users to have better insight.

I have recommended @yabapmatt's bot tracker tool because it gives our users the ability to see if it is a good time to bid for @buildawhale voting service. It is not a tool we created or have any control of, but it helps our users have a better experience.

It is counter-intuitive as it is not in my best interest to promote or even recommend this tool as it means we get a lot less during our bidding windows. I think it is only fair for users to have information before they place a bid, even if it means we make less. This is sustainable, this is a win/win for both parties.

That being said, we did not make and we do not control the tool. It is a third party that provides the service to inform users before making a bid. It has caused a lot of complications with our service, but I think it is still a good solution to providing our users enough information to make an informed decision when bidding. Keep in mind, it isn't perfect and there is no guarantee you will make 400%+ on your bids.

A recent slanderous post was made by a user who claimed he got "burnt" by using @buildawhale. By burned, he means he made 53% profit instead of 400%+.

And as you see from the pics. that it upvoted me with - < 8$ - so it was near half what I was expecting indeed, and I don’t think that the calculator is wrong I think that the bot programmed to give a fixed margin of profitability to upvote with even if the bidding pool is not giving the same result. :-(

I understand the frustration as the Bot Tracker tool had a glitch and reported the wrong potential profit. Instead of 400%+, he made 53%. There is no guarantee you will make any profit much less 400%.

Prior to this tool, users had zero information to work with and were bidding blindly. With @yabapmatt's tool, users have more information than ever to make an informed decision.

@yabapmatt responded to the user in question:

Compare that to Steemit's "Promote" service that people spend upwards of $300 to show up on the promoted tab with $0 ROI on their money

I (@themarkymark) run @buildawhale with complete transparency. I pay around 8,500 Steem/week to offer this service while struggling to even break even. We have lost money for months as we do not own the Steem Power used to power @buildawhale. Everything I make via the Curation Digest, @themarkymark posts, and bids goes to paying rent so I can continue to offer this service.

The goal of @buildawhale is to provide users a way to gain exposure and traction for quality content. It is not so users can exploit the reward pool by submitting stolen, plagarised, low effort content and expecting instant huge profit in return.

We offer far more value-add than other service. We provide an immediate ROI most of the time, something that cannot be had in any other advertising medium.

We go through over 400 posts a day and find our favorite five posts and highlight them in our daily Curation Digest. This is an immense amount of work as we receive over 400 posts a day and a large amount of them show virtually no effort. Being featuerd in the Curation Digest adds a lot more exposure and additional upvotes rewarding great content.

We also reward an author with over $100 in upvotes multiple times a week with our Author of the Day program.

We also have a PreVote club where we provide even more upvotes prior to our upvote coming in.

@themarkymark I use @buildawhale all the time and I've always got amazing results. Thank you for running the service, you'll always have my support. If someone doesn't agree with the @buildawhale is ran or how the up vote comes in simple solution to your problem ( I didn't even have to use math) don't use it.......

I hope people understand how this process works and how the tool by @yabapmatt can be used with great results, albeit cautiously. Its crazy how people blame @buildawhale, and call it a scam, because they do not understand what they are doing. Like @yabapmatt mentioned, they should really get a hold of us on discord if they have any questions and should never rely on any external sources for information.

That being said, this 3rd party tool is an amazing opportunity for people to understand who is bidding and at what price point will be valuable as a bid. I personally would like to thank @yabapmatt for the making of this web app with no regard for profits. As well as thank @themarkymark for his selfish-less effort to help minnows with @buildawhale. I have been working with him for a large chunk of Buildawhale, as Chief Curator, and see the inter workings and person behind the bot. Feel free to ask me about him. He really cares about the community, most who have had any communications with him would know this.

I previously had a link to check and it quit working so thank you for posting this. Will resteem so others have this.

You are beauty! @buildawhale

I followed what I believe were the correct steps and bid 1 Steem to buildawhale and added a URL to one of my posts I hoped to get a few more votes for.
I can see no difference at all. The post was a few days old. What did I do wrong or am I just confused?

From what I can tell the post was too old. You placed the bid too close to the 6 days 8 hours.

I recommend not sending anything 6 days 8 hours or older, we will vote up to 6 days 11 hours, but Steem shuts down voting after 6 days 12 hours. Ideally, I suggest not sending anything 6 days+ just to be safe, but we vote all the way up to an hour of the expiration.

Thanks I suspected as much and will try again. Just waiting for a steem transfer to come through. I also really appreciate the quick support. I have joined the Discord channel and will learn more as time goes by.

We need to stick together.
