My name is Ryan and I'm here to share my journey into Budgeting. Currently I'm living paycheck to paycheck, and I have a wife and child. I've been reading Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover, and while it has a religious slant and I'm an athiest, the principles don't change and are applicable to the non-believer as well. I will be using both Steemit.com and Minds.com to chronicle my journey.
Now before I get started, I do want to say that I'm also an Anarcho-Capitalist, so I don't think that it's a good thing to stay in US currency, but because I have a wife and child I am going to be doing this with FRNs. My goal is to have a $1000 liquid cash emergency fund, no debt, and 3-6 months worth of expenses in my savings account (in addition to the $1000 emergency fund). I currently make less than 40K/year and my wife is stay at home.
Now that the introduction is out of the way, here's my Budget Template! If you want to use it, please feel free. In my next Blog Post I'll be going over the budget itself.
