I moved to bangkok from USA after divorce in august of 2015. I had all my assets in a 401k there. I cashed out everything in January and will owe around $67,000 in taxes and early withdrawal penalties in 2018I have almost made that up in BTC gains already.
Reason I even considered BTC was because it was a good way to move money from USA to Thailand without bank transfers and all that bullshit. Bought in around $1100.
I've since diversified into ETH, STEEM, and PMs.
I took a huge risk cashing out my 401k but just wanted out of the system (before the crash) and to have liquidity. I am a very happy camper, assuming values stay where they are or go up. Worse case I have physical PMs if SHTF.
First post on steemit.
Smart move. It's difficult to go against crowd mentality. But you'll be fine. Never look back.
Thanks for the support!
Have you cashed in any bitcoin in Thailand?
yes I use the BX.in.th exchange here. Very fluid. Big deposits of $250,000 direct to my thai bank account no problem.
