Although the party in power typically loses seat there are problems for the liberals also in the election. For one seems like many of the cards they have already have shown to limited effectiveness. Additionally if there is some allegation against the Trump administration later it makes it seem ALL that more political like it was being held closer to the election. It would be highly suspicious. If there was collusion you would show that clearly right away correct? Secondly there is no real leader right now on that side. The division and problems are much greater than the New York Times would ever tell you. If you choose a rust belt somewhat centrist candidate you risk alienating the progressives. If you choose an extremely leftist candidate you risk losing union support and people in business. Quite a box to be in?
Nothing more than politics as usual. There was social media bots and facebook accounts and what not. The more things change the more they stay the same. Russia has tried to sow discord for decade after decade. They held fake protests on both sides...they hedge their bets. Wouldn't even be a STORY if the election would have went other way. In other words, the whining, it's bullshit. Come up with a platform, actually campaign, and run an effective electoral campaign. The nineties type campaigns before social media don't work anymore. The Democratic candidate appeared to live in an echo chamber, not believing loss was possible, even neglecting to hold many rally's. It's not the way you run a campaign. Just saying I'm not the other guy with no new ideas is a recipe for disaster.
