Make your browser use a proxy server (a different location) on internet

in #browser7 years ago (edited)

Below I have shown how to set-up your browser to use a web proxy step by step on chrome. You have to follow similar steps on any other browser too. Click on the link provided to learn more about web proxies and ways to fool your network administrator.

Step 1 - Go into the settings of your browser. Look for network section under the advanced settings. Click on 'change proxy settings'. In firefox you will find the proxy settings dialog box under the connection section of the network tab (in advanced settings). Other browsers have similar interface for the same.

chrome://settings

Here we see that we need to provide our browser with an IP address (of proxy server) and port number on which it's operating, for it to be able to fake it's location.

Next step is to look for free web proxy servers online. I have performed an example of how to go about completing the next step below.

goggle search for proxies
hide.me proxy
proxy list

Pick any proxy out of the given list of proxies and copy it's IP address and port number. Next enter the same in the 'proxy settings' dialog box, click OK and complete the process. Enjoy surfing free from anywhere in the world while sitting at your home.

It's my website, under my real name - Apoorv Jain. I trashed it just now since I don't want to duplicate it on places on internet. Here it's more valuable to post, so I just re-posted it here.
