A sinner repents.

Picture shows Bella Wallersteiner who has come, pretty late I admit, to the realisation that multiculturalist policies have been an utter failure.

Every single individual on this planet gets things wrong. Every person makes mistakes. Every person commits errors or does something or says something wrong or for a time follows a bad ideology. I’m no exception to this rule. I used to be on the centre Left although I did at least have the moral compass to be able to refuse the violent excesses of the revolutionary far Left. I said things and supported causes that now make me cringe as I’ve grown away from such things and have been presented with irrefutable evidence that what I once believed was false.

I look back on my mistakes, my wrong assumptions, the words that I uttered that were more harsh, ignorant and intolerant than needed and feel shame and embarrassment. I also think back and think how lucky I was to make my mistakes in a time period where everything I said and did was not recorded or extremely public. I’m grateful that I’m not permanently associated with causes that I now reject or which I have been shown are false. I’m not alone in that viewpoint, many many others have been through a similar process where we look back on views we once held or causes we once supported only to realise we were wrong and need to do things to put right what we once did, said and thought that was wrong.

In Judaism there is a concept called ‘Teshuvah’ or repentance where the individual recognises that they have sinned and then has to do all that they can to put right that which they’ve done wrong in order to never commit that sin again. It’s a difficult path, one strewn with heartbreak and recollections of shame and guilt, but it is a path that needs to be followed in order to gain Teshuvah.

One person who is going through a political version of this Teshuvah process is the Jewish heritage atheist commentator Bella Wallersteiner ( @BellaWallerstei on the X platform). She’s been one of those liberals who have made a big noise about how great multiculturalism is but has increasingly been mugged by reality. The sort of reality that has mugged her is the exposure of the true nature of those who purport to march for ‘Palestine’. She has belatedly seen what many of us saw years ago that these ‘Palestine’ campaigners are less concerned with the so-called ‘Palestinians’ and much more concerned with hating Jews.

Here is what Ms Wallersteiner has said recently about multiculturalism and it is radically different from what she has said before.

Ms Wallersteiner is getting an awful lot of shit online for her change of heart. People are asking her why she is only coming out as an opponent of multiculturalism because of Jew hatred and not because of the massive amounts of Islamic terrorism, the rape gangs, the anti indigenous hatred of Britain’s ruling classes and much more. Those critics do I’m afraid have a point. However in Ms Wallersteiner’s favour I have to say that what makes an individual reject idiotic and failing ideologies such as multiculturalism or far leftism or extreme environmentalism differs from person to person. I rejected the revolutionary far left as I could not see how they could feed or clothe or support the population or run the economy effectively had these leftist’s revolutionary fantasies become reality. I could see that the revolutionary left was a dangerous dead end. I rejected extreme environmentalism after seeing small haulage companies, some of whom were customers and suppliers of my family’s businesses destroyed by green rules, with the work they did picked up by major global conglomerates who could accommodate such draconian environmental rules. I rejected multiculturalism when I saw it was not bringing people together but instead creating siloisation of people and groups and creating hostile ghettos.

All these things were what caused me to reject what I might have previously either believed in or was ambivalent about. What pulled me away from a leftist viewpoint and the leftist axis or having a live and let live attitude when maybe a more condemnatory one was necessary was without a doubt different from what has pulled Ms Wallersteiner away from her previous views on multiculturalism.

For Ms Wallersteiner the tipping point for her to reject multiculturalism was the insane levels of Jew hatred from leftists and radical Moslems but for others that tipping point might be something else. Many others may have, because of problems such as the rape gangs, migrant crime, open borders and much more, come to the conclusion that multiculturalism has failed long before Ms Wallersteiner did but the point is Ms Wallersteiner has come to a similar conclusion in her own way that many others of us have.

There is a path of Teshuvah that Ms Wallersteiner can walk following her rejection of the idiotic cult of multiculturalism. It ain’t going to be easy for her. She’s going to have to suck up a whole load of criticism, some justified and some not,for hanging on to her previous political position for so long especially as the evidence for the failure of multiculturalism was so obvious for so long. She is also I believe going to have to apologise to those she slagged off for disagreeing with her and for the fact that she uttered her previous views about multiculturalism whilst not having to deal with multiculturalism’s negative bits. This is because by the nature of her job, her social circle and probably her income she was shielded from such negative aspects.

Unlike some I don’t believe that Ms Wallersteiner is irredeemable. Yes she’s made some terrible political errors but then so have we all at some point in our lives. If, for example, I’d succumbed, many decades ago, to the flirty fishing of a hot red-headed and pneumatically proportioned Socialist Workers Party activist then maybe I would have been lost to that cult but I didn’t and I wasn’t. Ms Wallersteiner isn’t lost she’s just realised that what she used to believe is false. I’ve done that and many others have done that.

I want to give credit for Ms Wallersteiner for having the intelligence and ability to realise that she was wrong and that she once supported causes that have turned out to be utterly wrong. Although others may differ from me on this I am going to give Ms Wallersteiner the benefit of the doubt and maybe you should too.

I’m going to leave you with two biblical quotes that are relevant to this situation, one from the Torah and one from the Christian Testament that underline the importance of Teshuvah or repentance. Genuine repentance should in my view be welcomed and celebrated and that is why I’m not joining in the pile on against Ms Wallersteiner although I do think that she should apoligise to those that she’s slagged off in the past for criticising the cult of multiculturalism.

From The Torah:

Return to the LORD your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 30:2)

and from the Christian Testament

Luke 15:7

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
