Since I have freed up a significant portion of my time books are one thing I'm slowly but surely easing my way into. Initially I decided to make this list with freely available books that have affected many lives positively.
Every single one of these books were written before you or I were born. Many have been influenced in the past, which in turn has shaped the society we live in TODAY.
About My List:
The book has to be available for free.
I had to have read it at some point in my life.
Since I have probably not read as many books as others might have in their lifetime, I am sharing this list for all the book loving maniacs. If I'm missing a book you have indeed read, please list it in the comments below with a link for people to download.
My List :
- Go Rin no Sho (The Book of Five Rings) by Miyamoto Musashi
Personally my utmost favorite. If I had to choose a book to take to a deserted island this would be it. I could go about reading it over.. and over... and over again.
Technically, this book is about Samurai strategy (how to kill people), but it's much deeper than that.
2) Walden by Henry David Thoreau
Strictly for Minimalistic Fans.
3) Tao Te Ching by Laozi
Highly recommended due to its very easy read.
4) On The Origin Of The Species by Charles Darwin
Just like the theory of bacteria is a proven fact, so is the theory of evolution. Theory is factual in case some of you think theories are just "theories" and have no tangible evidence to support them.
5) The Antichrist by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
Nietzsche was quite the guy. NOT about satan. ( You know, because there is no Satan. (; )
6) The Einstein Theory of Relativity by Hendrik Antoon Lorentz
For normal people like me, haha, this will clarify the Theory of Relativity intricately even if you're still trying to get smarter!
7) The Art of War by Sun Tzu
Nuff said.
8) The Kama Sutra by Vatsyayana
Most, probably, at some point have heard of this one.
9) The Art of Public Speaking by Dale Carnegie
How To Win Friends and Influence People is far more well-known. This book right here though, personally elevated me more than I can express in words.
10) On the Duty of Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau
