"Fairytales are true to their own world. And the world I'm living in isn't make-believe." Exact pieces of words I can describe while reading Jonaxx's books, and what we have here is the Good Lips Series or the GLS and Until Trilogy or UT. Pure feelings, emotions and deep thoughts can be made while onto these books. I've read some of Jonaxx's book but these ones hit me hard. They're different. They're flaming hot.
Good Lips Series, contains three outstanding books; Every Beast Needs A Beauty, One Night, One Lie, and Give In To You. The trio did an expectacular job together, most especially the main boys characters are cousins.
Every Beast Needs A Beautyㅡmy beloved but a fiery and intense book I must say. It's an extraordinary love, "you need to do extraordinary things if you want extraordinary happiness." A saying goes from the book. This book is like the Cinderella tale. Sunshine Aragon, the main cast, or Sunny for short, wasn't raised from a wealthy family. Her father died when she was very little and her mother died because of depression. Sad history, indeed.
Rage del Fierro, on the other hand, is a filthy rich and a CEO of their family's company who knew about Sunshine before they actually met and interact. He would often stalk her during college days for the reason of Rage seeking vengeance to her because of his father's betrayal to him and to her mother.
Their story is full of twist and heartaching scenes but nevertheless, they made a good couple neverminding those who bring them down. It's very purifying how Rage accepted Sunny with all his heart, never even bothering about the affair their parents had, and let dedication and worth lead their romantic relationship.
They proved that love doesn't choose a state and position in life in order to pursue the love you found to a person worth showering care. And the fruit of their great bond is a baby boy, Roscoe.
One Night, One Lie, one of my favorites. It talks about revenge for love. Revenge and seekness for the truth and honesty. Aurora Veronica, or Avon, is willing to do whatever it takes just to keep her family intact. And with the persistence and courage she has, she was able to meet a fine young man, Brandon Walter Rockwell.
It's amazing and mind blowing how Brandon knew about Avon, he had first impressions that didn't last until the day that they finally met, the day Avon went to Tagaytay Highlands as a Manager and as Brandon as the COO of the hotel.
This book voices out the importance of family and friendship. Brandon took good care of her bestfriend, Arielle, due to violence issues Arielle experienced when growing up. Despite of it, he was still able to give Avon the love she deserves. The love and comfort Avon deserves during her toughest times with her parents. Avon has a dearing personality. She can give love and compassion, but when you mess with her, she can ruin you into fine dust. Goes the opposite to her. You may trod her in the very dirt, but still, like dust, she'll rise.
Brandon was so challenged to get her, to chase her, and fortunately, Avon was able to give in to Brandon. They made a good love together and they happily tied the knots. And with that, they had a princess to the 2nd generation of the Del Fierros, Schuyler.
And literally last but not the least, Give in to You. It may be the last book of the series, but it surpassed my expectations. It gave me hundreds of feelings and sent me to tears for Portia Cecilia Ignacio don’t have the life everyone wanted, she lack of love from her parents but she can give love that it overflows. She is willing to do whatever it takes just to please her parents. But still, it’s not enough. It will never be enough.
Just so happens that Logan Griffin Torrealba is as willing than anyone else to give Portia the love she deserves. Yeah, Logan the playboy, and wishes to seek retribution for his family but it ain’t strong enough when she met Portia, there’s no turning back now.
He gave in to her. But of course, there is no happy endings without going through lumpy mountains, always blocking the way with hardships. But I’m confident enough to say that it was because of there avalanche-like relationship. They were strong together. They won’t let anyone defeat the strength they have for their family. With Portia being a lionhearted, she can defeat the odds, but together with Logan, she just grew stronger. She showed that it’s not always just the love you have for your family or anyone else, but you must learn to love yourself, too. And give the same exact value of love to the people who love you willingly and passionately, just like what Logan gave her. He can’t let anyone hurt her. No, he will never let anyone hurt her. And together, with the stone-hard love they have for each other, they made a fruit of life. Portia became Logan’s home. Beaumont, their son, became their happiness. Portia found world and family to the both. It would be a pleasure for me to read this book for a thousand times. Never will be tired to repeat this for I also gave in. Hard.
Now that we've completed the review for GLS, let's move on and tackle about the Untril Trilogy. From the word "trilogy", you woud know it contains three amazing and jaw-dropping books. Namely: Until He Was Gone, Until He Returned, and Until Forever.
Until He Was Gone is the introduction of the whole collection. At first you would think this is the ordinary love made, the ordinary love story we read, but it isn't. It was full of purity and breaking each other's innocence. Klare Desteen was once known as a Montefalco, she was loved and her parents and brother loved her dearly that you wouldn't think of any erronous movements in the story. But when Elijah admitted to himself that she really likes her cousin, oh, you wouldn’t want to think for the rest of the story. But no. We all know that once we fell hard, there’s no turning back. It’s either they fight, or they just give up the love they have for themselves inorder to keep the family’s reputation, inorder to keep the family’s name. But ofcourse, it ain’t enough reason when you dwell too much for love. Nothing can defeat a screaming heart shouting the name of the person it goes crazy for, never. So that’s what Klare Desteen and Elijah Riley Montefalco did.
They fought for their love big time. No matter how hard it took them and their families to understand, they know to themselves that they are bound to each other. Bound to love one another. They were stronger than any couple in there. Because their love isn’t ordinary. It even isn’t extraordinary. It was beyond extraordinary. Klare don’t want to settle for this just yet, thinking this is just a phase for Elijah, concluding that when Elijah stopped loving her, she can then just move on and forget. Even it hurts more than stabbing yourself. But how can you fool yourself, right? And I think there’s nothing wrong with that. They just did whatever they can to make them happy.
This book is full of sacrifices and again love for family. Klare is willing to sacrifice the love of his life just to keep her family. But it is a downfall to Elijah. It’s his weakness. It’s his weakness when he thinks that Klare can just drop her easily, to go for what she thinks is right. But of course, with the help of their huge set of cousins, they were supported. Not because they want to tolerate the bad relationship, but because they saw sincerity and purity to the two. It became their way to protest to their family that maybe their right. Why not give them chance. And true enough, chance heard them.
In Until He Returned, they knew the truth about Klare’s identity. Montefalcos had doubts that maybe Klare just chose to be a Ty for she wants to make it with Elijah. But no. She just want to find peace. Elijah then was more than willing to really pursue for the best. Yes, they were still not accepted for their family thinks that outsider knows them as cousins, but it is a shallow reason for them to stop. If they made it their way to their parents, why not with the people around?
And lastly, in Until Forever, they had minor problems and normal arguments couple have. Jealousy, and so on. And finally, slowly but surely, they made it. Elijah proposed, they’re happily engaged. Probably married by now.
Jonah Mae Pacala, the writer of all these incredible books and many more, is a great writer to conclude. I wouldn’t be this emotional writing all of these if it weren’t with the help of her great passion and talent. Imagination and creativity. How she plans and plots the twists, it’s all incredible. It went to the point that If I were given a chance to the things I can’t do, it’s to go inside and books she wrote for it’s full of magic and love. I won’t be tired recommending her books. Even if it means effort.
I want you to see your inner you. To think and realize the path of life through these wonderful books. Because once you’ve seen the best, you won’t ask for more. And probably wont ask for anything less at all.!
