You were asleep, then you start hearing a certain noise, it sounds like an alarm but you are not sure. You wake up only to realise it's an alarm, ooh that's when you remember that you set an alarm when you were about to sleep. You sit on the bed contemplating about it for a while. You know you have to go for work but... then you remember it's a thursday, yeah a day close to a weekend, actually it's almost a weekend, actually you are not in the moods today, you had some flu last night.
Atleast for that thursday.
The little choices you make everyday matter
It's easy for you to skip work on friday if you skipped thursday.
You will skip on monday as well because you were able to skip on thursday last week.
Ever wondered why addicts can't seem to get off drugs?
It all started with a simple taste
He took his first cigarette at Bob's birthday, actually it never tasted well, he smoked it anyway and yeah it tasted like he would like it. He again smoked on one of the weekends when he was bored after his girlfriend going to the village. He kept a few cigarettes but occasionally smoked. Fast forward 2 years to now, he just can't spend a day without smoking. Atleast he does anything to smoke a single cigarette a day.
Beginnings of most things are insignificant.

Some days you feel like you shouldn't workout, but you do anyway, you are able to do it through out.
you get the point?
You will always either build good habits or bad habits.
It's what leads you to somewhere.
we should check the choices we do everyday, because they matter more than we think they do.
Happiness doesn't come suddenly
A newbie(just like me)on steemit might be frustrated, he posts and no one upvotes on his posts, it gets to over a month and he can't get more people to see his good content.
But when he persists!
If two people are to climb up a mountain, one is carried in a helicopter and dropped on the top, another climbs up in all the struggle and finally gets at the top.
You see there is a reason why we call it success, it's because it's a process, it doesn't happen overnight.
Let's embrace the struggle we go through, we enjoy the struggle and when we get there we shall be more happy than before.
Remember part of success is feeling satisfaction.
And of the two people who feels satisfaction?
Embracingg the power of compound effect
In the book The slight edge the author gives an example of a doubling penny being more than a million dollars.
A frog that was able to move out a pail after it just made consistent movements long enough to create a way of moving out of the pail.
A growing hycinth that was unnoticed until it was too late.
To start you must start with something, no matter how small.
the power of the one percent
Have you ever seen a good chess player? ofcos.
A good chess player plays so good moves that you can't imagine how they can be able to play such moves.
But these are the people who play chess everyday, they play a few games that sonetimes they are not even able to remember. After a few years they become so good that chess becomes part of them.
What happened to the fitness master when he was just starting to workout, he probably never felt like it, he used to feel like crap everytime he was supposed to hit the gym.
And now! he loves the gym so much that it's people who tell him to cut down on the workout days.
Compund effect comes with time, it's something that i took away from this book.
it's a matter of time
90 percent of success is showing
The only thing that matters in life is growth, So whenver we are growing in something, there is always no need of worrying.
I remember when i first read a book, it so hard, it felt crap like hell, but slowly i started reading something in phone or posters and now i love reading, i read just about anything that interests me. Compound effect.
your friends can either make you or break
You have probably heard about this yet,
but how does it happen?
The first time you join a good company, you feel out of place.
please we have our lungs
It's so wierd how you pull out a cigarette to smoke and they tell not to smoke from their presence, you slowly lower down your cigarette and keep for maybe tomorrow.
Next time you want buy some junk foods, one of your friend asks you if you are minding about your health, you slowly reply sparingly in that he doesn't even hear.
A year after you find yourself behaving just like them.
That's a good company, it's slightedge working.
It can happen otherwise with a bad company.
Every error we make today, it's not just for today, it impacts our choices with time.
In life, everything is a curve
We should always use it to our advantage.
That's basically what i learnt from the book The slight edge.
It taught me alot of things. It taught me how to live.
Never to miss judge my choices.
To live a postive life.
So i decided to live
I guess it comes down to a simple choice, really you get busy living, or get busy dying.

Solid summary, it reminds me of another book I once read "The Compound Effect" (which really changed my life) Click here to get to the Goodreads page of The Compound Effect.
It is a very short but powerful book. Never underestimate the power of compound interest and compounded actions!
Cool, will check it out
Ah I love the concept of succes is a progress, gives me hope. Thanks for sharing!
The more mistakes you make the more successful you'll be, it means you're always trying if you're making mistakes often.
That a inytiny decision can change so much is a cool feeling had it myself sometimes that i do one thing and then doing it over and over

Awesome review and great material to be focusing on. Very true. When I made my very first painting in October 2011 at age 31 I knew right away I wanted to make art my career. Everyone told me I was crazy, that "you don;t just become an artist when you're in your 30's already" - but little by little I kept painting and trying to sell my art.Eventually people bought some of my paintings. Now it is 2018, I've been doing art full time as my career since 2014, and my art is in collections in 26 different countries :)
Wow, such an achievement with little steps. You are a good lesson for people who feel like if they can't achieve it quick, it won't come.
