Chapter one: The day it all began

In a dark room lighted by a candle over what it appeared to be a cupcake a small and calm voice mixed with smooth jazz music in the back could be heard
Ray: happy 20th birth day to me I guess, man that’s so lame I wonder what the others are doing. “He sighted”
Suddenly someone knocked on the door
Ray: that must be them.
He went to open up the door and did, he found 2 figures waiting for him on the other side
it was his two best friends Felix and Erica, as soon as the door was full open and the two of them managed to take a proper look at their friend they looked happy to see him.
Felix and Erica: Ray! Happy birth day!
To which he immediately responded
Ray: shhhh do you want to get ourselves in trouble screaming like that at this time of the day.
He invited them in but they were already inside as he was in the middle of his sentence, he looked at them and sighed then looked again and smiled.
Felix took his lighter out and started to light candles around the room and saw the little cake on the desk.
Felix: why is it so dark, you weren’t actually going to start without us were you?
Ray: can you blame me am not the one who arrived at my brother’s birthday party late
Felix: and you were going to celebrate it all by yourself? That’s just sad dude
Ray growled a “shut-up”
Erica: sorry we’re late but we got you this
She said while taking off a small box from her backpack who was almost as big as her
Ray took the box from her thanked her looked at it and opens it carefully so none of the paper around it were torn, he looked at the present given to him with a big smile on his face
Ray: oh my god! What they found here is a national treasure, I love you guys but how when where why.
It was a video game by the name of “the first fantasy”, as a matter of fact his favorite video game.
Felix: I knew how much you loved this so we searched for it all day since this morning at the mall and lucky us we found it and as you can see it’s still in prefect shape and as for the why, well because that smile on your face was worth the effort and you’re probably going to stop being a pain in the ass for like eternity now.
Ray wasn’t paying attention to his brother talking and had already put the disk inside the console, his brother looked at him happily not even bothered by his brother’s carefreeness.
Erica: am glad we did this for him I haven’t seen him this happy since the day before it all happened
Felix looked at her then back at his brother and replied to her.
Felix: well do you want to wash your self-first? , you’re far more dirty then I am.
She looked at herself and realized he was right, embarrassed she accepted the offer and went to the bathroom in order to clean herself and take a bath.
Felix took place on a chair and stared at the happy look on his brother’s face
Felix: already 20yo big brother feeling any different?
Ray: now that you mentioned it I do feel wiser
Felix: really?
Ray: no
A sudden silence covered the room they looked at each other and both laughed.
1:30 Am
Erica finished her bath and came back to the brothers’ room drying her hair with a towel, she looked at them sleeping each one of them at a random position, and decided to join them she laid down closed her eyes.
Suddenly she heard her name “Erica wake up”, she opened up her eyes and said “leave me alone you guys I want to sleep” but the voice insisted “ Erica wake up already you’re going to be late for school”, she realized that the voice she was hearing was her mother’s and woke up immediately.
Erica: oh god what time is it.
