My personal area of interest is how culture influences success. After years of studying the issue I am going to begin a book length examination of the subject soon. I welcome but do not expect the support of a publishing house and so I plan to release this work as an ebook. To build an audience I will be using this blog and other internet resources. The blog is not a mere marketing tool, the full text of the upcoming book will most likely be available on it and the other writings on the blog will be informative and usually on the subject of how culture influences success.
I became interested in this subject from the youngest age as my father is white American and my mother is an immigrant from the third world. At the youngest age I could see the differences between these cultures and see how these differences mattered. They did matter, they caused enormous differences in the amount of success these two cultural groupings see in life. But under the surface we are all the same. I could see this from the earliest age and knew that behind closed doors we all say the same things. It is only in public that we change and begin to argue. If I could do just one thing to improve the world it would be to let everyone know just what other groups are saying behind closed doors because once we all realize that we are saying the same thing the craziness will get drained out of the world. Letting the world know this will not be easy, but it is my goal.
We are the same, we are one race. But we are not one culture and culture does matter. It does change the amount of success each group sees in this world. After years of study, both academic and real world observation, I believe I do know the answer why. The full explanation will require a book length treatment but the heart of it is that we evolved in a world where all wealth comes from nature but now live in a world where almost all wealth comes from human labor. Decisions which would have succeeded in the world we evolved in fail in the world we live in. There is more to it than that, wait for the book.
There was no point in putting years of study into this if no one reads the book. In preparation I will be trying to bring attention to my ideas with provocative titles and subjects. But if you read through to the end you will see my ideas are the soul of moderation. I hope you do read through to the end, I have a six part series planned. The ebooks will likely be sold for five dollars each. I would like to make some money from this, I am only human. But there are better ways to make money and I am financially independent.
My goal is to have around thirty essays written by Leap Day and organized into a busy.com website. Then I will start writing and posting the book piece by piece and hopefully it will be done in two months. To drive traffic I might make a companion Youtube channel. I have bought an eighty dollar Rode lapel mic in preparation for this. It was used so I only had to pay fifty dollars. I have obviously never done anything like this before, wish me luck.
I would like the reader and any follower of the blog to know where it is going. It is all aimed at an upcoming book explaining how culture influences success. I have been working on this book for years and believe my personal situation makes me well suited for this subject. I am fit for purpose.
If there is anything the world needs it is an explanation for why some groups are always richer than other groups. Nothing else creates more hate and anger in this world than the income differences. Nothing creates more frustration for both sides than the persistent poverty of the unsuccessful cultural groups. It does not have to be this way. We can all be as successful as we want or need, the world is made out of wet clay and not hard stone. We can change the world and we can change ourselves. There is an answer, but I can guarantee it is not the answer you want or expect. If it was these problems would have been solved millennia ago.
So what to expect in the future? More provocative titles and subjects and a continued focus on subjects mostly funneling down to the subject of how culture influences success. And then the book begins, I will most likely post the entire thing piece by piece as I write it. Then the ebook and effort to find an audience. I plan on selling the ebook through gumroad instead of amazon and will be offering an affiliate link opportunity which splits the money evenly between myself and anyone pushing the affiliate link on their own blog or website. You will have to have an account with gumroad for this. I hope at least some of you are excited about this opportunity. I plan on selling the book for five dollars so that will be around two dollars to the gumroad account of everyone who sells a copy through a link they post on their own blog or website. It’s something.
In the future I will be posting the outlines of future writings. Nothing is being kept a secret here. It is an open book. Around thirty essays first to fill out a blog or busy.com website first and then the book piece by piece. I hope a youtube channel and generous affiliate monetary compensation terms will be enough for the work to find an audience. If not I will try something else. I don’t even know why but I do like steemit. I don’t consider this project to be a success yet, but I do hope it succeeds. But if this isn’t enough there is medium and minds and other options. I had a hobby website years ago and even did some of my own perl programming for it, it was fun in a way. Do people still use perl? I think php took over just after that. Anyway I didn’t spend years of my life studying the influence culture has on success to give up after the first obstacle. Because of my mixed background I know how much pain this subject causes for both sides of the dispute and how unnecessary this pain is. This whole problem will be easier to solve than people are expecting, but the solution will not be anything anyone was expecting.
So that is the plan. Aiming for at least thirty essays and a busy.com website and then the book posted piece by piece. Standard ebook promotional techniques. The only part of this that I think will surprise anyone is what the answer it, what causes one culture to be more successful than another. But at the same time if my answer is right it will be something you knew all along. The learner’s paradox, how can the truth be recognized as true if it was not previously known and if it was previously known why must it be learned. A philosophical question studied by every advanced culture on earth. A question that matters.
