Channel Update

in #blogpost7 years ago

Hello, and welcome to channel update.

Few of you've been wondering what's up with all the content spam. Thing is, I'm quitting. Got you right there, lol.

What's realy been up to is that I'm going to try to improve my channel a bit and focus on growing my power with combination of long- and short-term changes, that I hope will make my content more appealing. Below are long-term changes.

  1. I wont try so hard to go into details in my videos. My original thought was to separate my self from other channels with balance of "brains & action" in my videos, as I found that alot of video creators didn't know what the fuck they were doing, making the content only have entertainment-value, or being very slow on their approach, making watching very dull and boring. "Brains & action" is not bad idea on it self, however I have found out that my english and speaking skills are not on a sufficient level to properly impliment the "brains" side to my commentary, leading into content were I didn't speak enough or sounded very unsure. This change does not mean that I will add unfunny jokes to my content or anything like that. I hope that this change will make my commentary more fluid and trough that more professional.

  2. Make steemit posts from time to time. Steemit posts are a great way to do reviews or go into details in addittion to spark discussion. These posts should contain the "brains" side of my channel. These posts are not going to be main source of my channels content, that source is still going to be daily videos. This format is developed as more experience is gained from it's implimentation and use.

  3. More effort on video-editing and thumb-nails, to make the channel more professional. First thing on this is to edit thumb-nails a little bit and trying to add "hello & bye-bye"-parts to my videos. This should be refined as more experience is gained from video editing.

  4. Cut the amount of let's plays going at the same time to 1. This caused supprising amount of trouble. Allthough some of you enjoyed having variety of games on the play, it caused plenty of troubles for my organizing and unnescescarily lenghtened my play-trhoughs, causing me to sometimes go back to games without memory where I even was. In addittion to that I spend too much money on new games that I didn't have time to play then, and no motivation because of long gaps between playing sessions. This does not mean that I wont stream anything on Dlive, I keep that option open.

Points above are for long-term developement of the channel. These points are to mainly affect the channel so that in a case where for example a new social-media platform that becomes prominent is introduced, transition will be easy as there is a base channel all ready in place.

Now some short-term change/changes. These changes are mainly for short-term profit generation and accounts power increase affecting changes that are not permanent. These changes attempt to strenghten my financial situation and strenght of my accounts capablity to generate profit.

  1. Decrease/stop upvoting comments. I do appreciate all my followers and understand the value of receiving something for those comments. However at the moment I feel that "growing" my own account in terms of power is going to have long-term beneficial effect to steem as whole. I will keep an close ey on this and review it as time progresses. It is possible that this change may actually prove to be unnescescary.

These are the immediate changes I'm going to make. Except next video to run with improved format, if everything goes well. It will possibly take up to few days for my next publishment of my content, but you should have enough Warcraft 3 videos to go trough in the meanwhile.

Nice update....

Scared me with that first paragraph! xD

I think it's mostly logical stuff. Focusing on one game at a time, improving the thumbnails and video edit, throw some posts in the blog to add variety ("brains"), it's all good.

You should poll your followers as to what game you should do next. Give us some options to choose from ;)

As for not upvoting comments, don't worry about that. In fact, most blogs where I leave a comment (a real one, not a "nice, dear" or "great post") never even bothered to reply, let alone upvote. Just do your thing :)

I know that no one upvotes them and I also know that is the reason why few of my followers even sticked with me. Thats why it is kind of sad that I can't realy do it atm.

Same here. I have a handful of good buddies (including you) but the rest is either spam or non-existent. If you were a whale (I mean, a WHALE), you would get tons of followers. Steemit is based on interests more than an actual community, really.

And I commend you for delegating some of your power to a fellow gamer (Piccollo, I guess?). That already makes you more honorable than 95% of the users in here.

a like this a I have to admit a have dropt a few comment just to get the up-vote. and been a bit unsure on the posts at time. a like u are trying to be better.
whit the up votes a see it like a prossess. in the beginnig every body get a up-vote. to get Ur name out there etc. when u got a following as u are doing now is to slow it down to the users ho care. a wil not go 0.000 but a up vote is ok 0.003
not more if it shomting special. u have been way to nice to us.
for my self all ur updates is to much for my power. waiting in anticipation

Good developments. I have trouble hearing you in your videos quite often, not because of your English, but more the audio. I have pretty awful speakers though and it's common for me to not be able to understand stuff so the problem could be on my end. I like that you are going to make more blog posts, and I think working on thumbnails is a great idea. Looking forward to more from you :)

One thing could be that I'm running a semi-cheap headset and I don't think it catches my voice too well. Then at the other-hand my voice turned very low and such that I'm very quiet when I talk normally but I can also yell as loud as hell + obs is notoriously quiet with mic volume.

I think that could be it. It's just a little rough sounding and hard to hear, especially in combination with my shitty speakers. Not complaining though, I still enjoy the videos! :)
