Eating Habits That Can Keep You Healthy And Happy

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

Today, many people are struggling with their unhealthy lifestyle and obesity problems as they are just eating according to their tongue's taste. People don't even care about higher calories anymore and mostly prefer junk food which causes many health problems and is a big cause of obesity.

But the reality is that if you want to switch to a healthy lifestyle and eating habits, then there is no need to leave your daily food or deny yourself the pleasure of eating.

Instead of that, all you need to do is switch your diet plan because our bodies work in particular ways and there is a particular time of eating every food, like you can eat lots of fruits in the morning and then you can eat heavy food items in lunch and eat light at night. You can make a healthy diet plan and can switch to healthy eating habits.

Here I bring a list of few healthy eating habits that you can make a part of your daily routine. This list not only helps you for a better food habit, it will be cheaper also.

1. Eat A Healthy Breakfast

People generally eat common breakfast like cereal, cornflakes, or bread but these items contain lots of sugar, it gives you a quick energy burst for a few hours after eating, but it can make you feel tired and also can increase your blood sugar level. This kind of food digests readily and makes you hungry again in 2-3 hours.

So to keep your blood sugar level normal, try to pick food for breakfast which is slow-digesting. You can choose lean proteins and whole grains, these are not only healthy but keep you full until lunch.

2. Pack Your Own Lunch For Office

If you pack your own cooked food for lunch, this gives you more control on what you are eating, and the amazing thing is that it doesn't need to take much time or any creativity to plan for cooking a healthy lunch. The habit of packing your own lunch can divert your mind from eating such unhealthy and oily food which gives you extra calories and fat.

You can pack something healthy and easy to make and quick recipes like veggie wraps, peanut butter, and banana sandwiches. Trust me guys this healthy and homemade food will be cheaper and I must say, a lot hygienic than whatever you would get from your office cafeteria. You can try some salad recipes too if you are dieting.

3. Eat Smartly

I see many times people who are generally on a diet, always reject their coworker's invitation to eat out. Because of this behaviour sometimes, people judge you wrongly or form wrong opinions about you. You can easily avoid these kind of situations as you can pick some healthy options like grilled chicken breast sandwich, and you can carry your own low-fat dressing instead of using high-fat dressings. Steamed or boiled items, fresh fruits and fresh fruit juices and soups can also be added to your plan.

4. Eat Like A Rainbow

Whenever we hear the word rainbow, many colors strike our mind like green, orange, yellow, red, white, purple. It’s a beautiful thing. So, why not make your food plate look the same way?

When you add these colors to your plate this will engage your various senses and it will be lots of fun too. Eating like a rainbow is not only healthy but also provides your body with a range of disease-fighting nutrients. This will fill you up and keep you healthy and gives you a boon of longer life. Adding more colors on your plate also can boost your daily intake habits without increasing their calories.

I just started a healthy living challenge and will most likely come back to your post as a reminder of what constitutes a healthy meal =p

Food is one of the biggest hurdles in healthy living and such a challenge in itself!

Please feel free to check out my post regarding the start of my 3 month challenge to healthy living here.

Good post.

awesome post! 👍🏻I know so many people who think that eating healthy means eating boring expensive food or not eating at all. All because of lack of information.

very true we fail cause of ignorance

Exactly. Sometimes people choose wrong way to stay healthy and it can cause other health problems too. Food is the way which can give us a longer life. So always stay concerned about your diet plans or if you have any difficulty you can take help from dieticians too.

Nice post and it is informative as well. keep it up

Diabetes is the most common disease caused by obesity. Fresh veggies and fruits boost the immune system and also keeps you fresh all day. ☺

you are right, if we change our lifestyles and keep simple menus for our kitchen time table so we can avoid unhealthy lifestyle very easily... Resteemed this post to reach to more friends...

Thankyou 😀😀

love it gonna Make my Plate in This way :)

Even me too 😀

Nice! Good way to start eating healthy. You don't need to worry when you eat something unhealthy during the day. Nobody can switch from eating unhealthy to eat healthy in days, it take some time and this is a good way to start.

It is difficult to change our eating schedule in a day but we can start from little things like whenever we feel hungry we can eat some fresh fruits instead of eating the fried oily snacks.

I've become very conscious about what I put in my body and have started my very own kitchen garde. Growing from seeds of organic fruit and vegetables. Hopefully next year we shall be able to provide our own salads, fruit and vegetables and keep some frozen for winter. Exercise and meditation all contribute to a better state of body and mind. Great post.

You are right. Even we grow our own vegetables and fruits. They are not only healthy but also free from harmful chemicals and insecticides.

Tryin to eat orgasmically organic, non gmo foods without the hidden sugar (check the labels)...but it gets expensive here in the west

You can alsogrow your our variety of fruits and vegetables 😀

Great post. It is important to take care of our diet because it will definitely change our lifestyle, healthy body healthy mind.

And we will get more concentration towards our work. 😀

Great tips to eat healthy without losing our mind doing it

Spot on! I'd like to echo the part on eating a healthy breakfast. I'm also a victim of this since many a times I've been caught grabbing a cup of coffee and white bread just before dashing to the office. Time constraints do make me do this. But I know it's not healthy. The coffee and bread gives you a quick energy boost but a few hours later you find yourself craving for more snacks as all the energy you had quickly drains from you. You find yourself grabbing another cup of coffee at 10am with biscuits or a piece of cake. For the chocolate lovers its another bar of your favorite chocolate. All these are still simple sugars which will leave you craving for more food after a few hours.

See the cycle?

You start your day with quick-energy foods and you find yourself eating more and more of these. This is unhealthy and also makes you eat more which leads to weight gain and health conditions like diabetes.

My mom always told me eat breakfast like a king because our breakfast is the thing on which our whole day depends. And eating more sugar in our breakfast is not a healthy habit. You can eat fresh fruits and fresh fruit juices instead of your coffee and white bread option. Or you can eat an apple with an empty stomach. Because we all know that "an apple a day keeps doctors away" 😁😁

Yum !! This post is so colorful and informative! Good job !

Thanks. And try to switch to a healthy lifestyle. ☺

Eating a rainbow diet of many colors is very good advice. You can tell a lot about a food by its colors. It's actually the dominant antioxidants that gives plants their colors, such as beta-carotene making carrots orange.

I posted my first podcast episode here on steemit where I go in depth about healthy eating and foods, as well as other very useful information.

I even dedicated an entire podcast episode to superfoods and posted that here.

Your post earned you a new follower :) Keep up the good work!

My favorite healthy meals in a time-crunch:

  1. vegetables and hummus - veggies like carrots, cucumbers and cherry tomatos dont even need to be cut. Keep hummus on supply, it'll last
  2. greek yogurt (7g sugar per serving), almonds, walnuts, raisins, and/or honey. Get some good honey and you will LOVE this easy parfait. I mix my ingredients right in the yogurt quart.
  3. roasted butternut squash: if you don't have time but can wait an hour, just cut a the squash in half, drizzle some olive oil over it, and pop it in the oven for an hour. Wah-la, 1 hour later you've got yourself a meal. Sprinkle some salt to taste

I like fruited it's good for healt
