I take the same approach on Steemit as I do on Twitter and other social media. I don't want a firehose of endless garbage. I want a hyperfocused stream of stuff I care about. So I tend to follow fewer people than most. I typically follow someone based on two things.
- Similar interests and posts quality content (this is key)
- Just like the person
But #2 will sometimes get purged if there is a lot of things I find I am not interested in. Not because I don't like them anymore, but it is a more efficient use of my time.
well I'll probably go and get rid of the 28,000 people that aren't following me the ones that are following me I'll keep them and build from there
The ones that follow you are generally largely follow for follow and offer no value. But the amount of users you follow I think scorched earth and starting over will produce more fruit.
