Of course, like everyone else, sometimes I'm a lazy ass :) I lay on the sofa or sit out all day at the computer... in the evening, however, I am tormented by the ugly feeling that I did nothing and did not go anywhere. But more often my wife and I "winding" the kilometers of the road, enjoying the time we've been given and admiring the nature and life around us!
I suggest you the walk to the "Popov" mountain. This is one of the highest mountains in Vladivostok. Yes, of course by the standards of the mountains it is not very high (about 430 meters), but for the "city" walk it is perfect!
Well, let's go!
Around us is beauty in its pure form! The quintessence of life!
The bustle of the city remains far below... it seems so illusory and unreal, like another life... Here in silence from the usual noise of the city dweller, you are increasingly thinking about life itself, about the framework in which we drive ourselves in the cities, how we distance ourselves from the beautiful!
But the higher the mountain, the more secure the fort on it! And this mountain is no exception. The higher we go, the more often we see what's left of Fort #3 (The Fort of Ekaterina the Great).
HISTORICAL REFERENCE
Construction work began in September 1910 under the leadership of engineer Ionov and was conducted until 1917. The third fort is one of the seven most "powerful" and autonomous forts of the Vladivostok fortress. This is the northern defense part of Vladivostok Fortress. In the event of a long-term siege of Vladivostok, fortress must give the opportunity to gain time before the approach of reinforcements from the western part of the Russian Empire.
Due to the outbreak of the First World War, and then the Revolution of 1917, the construction of the fort was not completed until the end. However, even what was ready (which is almost 90% of the project) is quite impressive in scale and invested resources even in comparison with many modern facilities.
The Fort occupies a huge area and measures about 1000m along the front and 400m in depth, and the total length of its underground and closed communications is about 1.5km
We're almost there. It's incredible luck - there's no fog!
Unnecessary now, but such important at the time parts of the Fort!
Like empty dead man's eye sockets, holes are gaping in the places where guns stood... Unfortunately, you can get there by car, which is very useful for vandals. But let's not think about sad, because the view is really wonderful!
I really hope you enjoyed the walk, friends! Next month we plan the walk in Fort itself! We will try to make interesting photos for you and catch bats at home :)
P.S. On the way back we collected a full backpack of mushrooms! :)
Sincerely, Terry Craft.
Amazing and inspiring piece. Its lovely and soothes the soul. I am glad i found this post. Taking time to spend with your spouse is very important as its renews the love daily. Keeps us updated with more amazing pictures of
Thank for kind words :)
I had read about the Vladivostok fortress only in history textbooks. Thanks your blog, I was able to see it through your eyes. 430 m altitude is not a very easy trek either for many city dwellers but as you have pointed out, it is quite refreshing to get away from the hustle bustle of busy city life. I like the fantastic photographs - especially the pink flower and the stunning sky views. It is sad that vandalisation affects such great monuments. It is a problem I have seen in some other countries as well. I hope that people realise that we need to preserve such historic buildings. Thanks for your wonderful description of the trek. Upvoted.
I request you to visit my blogs if possible sometime. Your comments and feedback will be most welcome.

Beautiful terrain and lovely places. Just some thought for you, "How will your appreciation of nature be if you were color blind?"
Its a privilege to see the world through a color blind eye as they see beauty than we cab ever know.
