"This terrorist attack" after the US president's visit to Riyadh "has great meanings," the Revolutionary Guard said in a statement. "The adoption of the responsibility for this attack illustrates the role of these people in this heinous act." He pledged "revenge."
The attack was carried out by gunmen and suicide bombers in the compound of the Iranian Shura Council in Tehran and the shrine of the leader of the Islamic revolution Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, about 20 kilometers from the capital at about the same time.
