Personally I have mostly witnessed girls denying certain primary aspect of safety... I don't mean that for you, it was so close. what I am trying to say is that I saw a lot of women in denials about safety. And as your experience show, one wrong encounter can be the one too much. be safe and no fear (while keeping aware of the surrounding ready to reassess the safety situation) !
