Looking Out For Friends

in #blog7 years ago

A few days ago I lost a best friend. He died far too young. I will always regret not doing more to help him and be there for him through his internal struggles. I have no more that I want to say here, apart from one thing.

Please, everyone, look out for your friends. Keep any eye out for those who withdraw and disappear off the map. If someone you know is deeply unhappy, talk to them, it could save their life.

Lots of love to you all,

Simon Oxenham

Postscript: I have been writing here lately about a lot of grand plans, I still intend to fulfil them and please keep the comments and emails coming, but forgive me if I don’t respond right now. I will need some time to process things. I will continue my normal activities soon but might put off taking on extra commitments for a little while.

Im sorry for your loss @simoxenham .Actually bro it happens to 3 members of our family also ,one of them is my favorite grandmother😭 though hope they already in heaven with our Father now.
Bro tell to his family that they should never lose hope.
And dont blame your self bro. For not helping him. You did your part also in other way. We love our friends as a part of our family😭 I just continue praying for them , that they will now enter to the kingdom of Father God😇😩

Sorry for your loss man.Sadly I know that feeling very well. The only thing that will heal this wound is time.It takes a lot of time to "fully recover" after losing important person who was part of your life.I wish you luck and if I can give you advise just don't blame yourself.I was blaming myself after the loss for a very long time till I understood that I couldn't know erenow and there is no real reason to blame myself. That's just life.Just take your time and keep up your great work since you are one of the "reasons" this platform is so great.I will patiently wait for your next article.Hold on @simoxenham

Pain is a bridge we all have to cross sometimes in life but some bridges are way harder to cross. Stay strong and sorry about your loss😞

I know that feeling. I've lost my dear friend which was very close to me a year and a half ago. He died due to overdose and he fought depression and drug addiction for a long time. I still think about him almost everyday and can't really believe he's not here anymore.

Hold on out there Simon!

Thanks for sharing, yes it's so sad, I'm still in disbelief, you too.

I'm sorry for your loss, @simoxenham. Loosing a close friend or a family member sucks, especially when they are young!

That's really sad to hear.
We are in world trying to do many things. Great things. Change the world how we can. Work till exhaustation till we fulfill our dreams.
But we must definately cherish our close ones more than all of that.

Thanks for sharing this. You seem like you are a great professional, but with things like this, I can only think you are a tremendous human being too, even without knowing you much.
I am very excited about your work and can't wait to see more of it, but I think Steemit is also a place to bind with people.
Be strong!

Your words came to my soul, maybe because I once felt the same as you, could it really be different if we had acted more? but as they say on the street, he would not exist.
The true friend is the one who is by your side when you would prefer to be somewhere else.
