This movie breaks at the box office and of course, in the case of the "The conjuring" saga, we all want to go and buy our newsletter. However, this does not mean that it is a good movie. because it may happen that after leaving the function you regret spending your money.
It seems to me that this franchise is in a constant ups and downs of quality (not because of the scares, those contain them all but we will analyze beyond this): ****The conjuring two*** and Annabelle for me, were bad. But the first film of The conjuring and Annabelle two were very good (the latter seems like a band-aid to its terrible start with the previous one, because they almost completely changed the story).
Since the movie started, pointing out that they were the same producers of *** Annabelle*** and The conjuring two * I thought "Jum ... let's wait and see if this one hits her" but I left with a taste in my mouth not very different from previous. In many moments of the film it seems more fiction than anything else.
Less is more …
Some of these films that attract us so much and for which they owe most of their success, is the promise of being based on real life. The way in which they were handled The Conjuring and Annabelle two were really a shot at the target with that seriousness that the delicate of the situation transmitted to us, and the subtle way in which they brought us that thrilling suspense; the creaking of a door, sharp and disturbing sounds, those little pulls of hair and feet. All these little details that brought us closer to a paranormal event of reality and that did not let us sleep with the psychosis of any ridiculous noise at night
The nun, on the contrary. It seems a whole theater mounted and exaggerated.
It seems that they had the idea that the accumulation of all the clichés would bring great strength to the film. But hey, this kind of movie always has this, the question is how much these characteristics of mysterious movies explode and the continuous abuse of them. It does not go beyond "Hello?" to nothingness and the persecution of an unidentified being in full solitude.
The little originality did not allow them to take advantage of the wide and fantastic environments and scenarios of which they counted, which by the way is a point in their favor.
Characters:
Many reviews and critics hailed the performance, however, what I always say is that the times are not the actors, but the bad roles. And this was the case, we are in the presence of good actors, but in terms of the characters: it is not worth using a strong image (like a nun or a priest) if you are going to portray it roughly and with a weak and incoherent character. to the image on which it is based to give them life. * Using them does not make the movie more interesting *.
Screen quality
: excellent image, excellent effects ... but nothing in excess is good. I get the impression that they abused them brutally to cover the emptiness of an empty plot in which it seems that each piece was encapsulated by force.
Personal conclusion:
The nun is an overrated movie that the only thing that could save it from not being so bad are the effects, the scenarios, and those impressions that stir your stomach of fright.
