Hello Steemians friends!
My first post was a little introduction so this is my second post, a diy, hope you like it ! Today i'm gonna show you how to make a nice yarn ball lights decoration..First time doing this thing. The key is to be patient and love what you do :D
Materials needed:
- Yarn
- White Glue/Super glue
- Balloons
- Vaseline
- Scissor
- Battery powered led lights
- Flat tray
First you need to prepare your area, this is quite a messy process so you’ll have to keep a paper or old newspaper to protect your area.
Step 1:
- Take the flat tray and mix white glue and water (50:50) very well (don't make it too watery)
- Soak the yarn into the water glue mixture without cutting the yarn
Step 2:
- Blow up small round shaped balloons
- Apply some vaseline on the surface of the balloons
Step 3:
- Start wrapping the glued yarn around the balloon randomly starting from the top of the balloon
- Cover the whole balloon with the yarn and try to create a nice pattern
- When you finish with all the balloons place them somewhere and let the glue dry about 24 hours
Step 4:
- Take a needle, pop the balloons and take it out from the yarn balls
Now it's the time to place lights inside the yarn balls:
- Find a small hole on the yarn ball and put the light inside
- Add a little super glue on the light to make sure it stick inside

Cool project!! Too bad the lights doesn't come out the same way on the dark yarn. Pastels would work well i bet. I resteemed :)
Thank you :D Yes, i was afraid of that, for that reason i used only one dark yarn.
followed you :)
You know what would be cool? Using glow-in-the-dark yarn and then when you turned the lights off you would have floating glowing orbs :)
OMG yes ! i love glow-in-the-dark "things" :D
